A guaranteed 5 star experience for any petrol head visiting Modena. Please note, entry is only via reservation through their website. We reserved our entry very last minute - about three hours before the visit, but we had no problems getting in. As far as parking goes, I am not aware of any convenient parking directly at or near the Museo; parking in front of the dealership next door didn't seem like a good idea, so please check with Stanguellini staff in advance.
We recommend a guided tour, it was informative and well structured. Every car has a backstory you might miss out on without a guide. Regardless, the collection itself is breathtaking, with some must-see rare cars, so even strolling around by yourself you will find plenty enough to admire. There's also a small motorcycle section in one corner and a few engines on stands in the back which can be quite fascinating to look at for those more mechanically inclined. Last but not least, the museo is filled with memorabilia, collectibles, paintings, posters... You get the idea. If you want to know more about a specific car or other showpiece, your questions will more than likely be answered by the guide.
Inside the museum you will find a souvenir shop with a good choice of items to buy if you wish to. This is one of the top museums to visit in Modena and if you find yourself visiting the Ferrari museum, do stop by Stanguellini museum as well, you...

The ticket was bought without a guide, because my language skills are at the level of the Stone Age. But I was taken care of by a terrible guide. she found out what language I understood and with the help of the translation on her mobile phone, she shared a lot of information that excited me. As a bonus, some cars opened their doors for me or lifted the hood and I could admire the heart of these gems. I have visited many museums, but I have never experienced this anywhere. Thank you for a...
Read moreYour in Maranello and Modena to visit all the big names (Ferrari, Lambo, Mas etc), your trip will not be complete unless you visit the Stanguellini Museum.
Its by appointment only, we elected to have the guided tour. Its a great snap shot of early motor racing history through to the 1960's. Well set out with clear examples of how things changed over the years. It showcases the technology and fashion (yes all the makes copied each other along the way) that was alive and competing (as it is now)
There is also a collection of interesting cars that is self guided. We had a great 1.5 hours,...
