We stayed at Fontanelle for the first week of our 2 week trip to Lake Garda. We stayed in the Tulip mobile home.||The accommodation was a stones throw away from the Lake with a beautiful view. The pebble beach was beautiful and had a small jetty. The area is brilliant for kids however as it is a pebble beach I would recommend laying on a lilo or purchasing a sun bed from the local supermarket for anything between €25 to €80, depending on what you are willing to spend.||The mobile home itself was lovely, the beds were comfortable and the bedrooms had ample storage for clothing etc. It was very clean and we even had free air con which is required as it can get very hot inside the mobile home. ||We had a lovely outdoor veranda area where we ate breakfast lunch and dinner and you have a free BBQ which was lovely.||The campsite also offers free WiFi where you obtain a ticket daily from reception to use. To be honest we hardly used it.||There was a kids club or animation as they call it which was good fun and the restaurant on site offered great food and was very reasonably priced. It was €5 euro for a margharita pizza and there was plenty on the menu. Drinks also were reasonable at around €3-4 euro for a large glass of wine. ||On the lake front there is an area you can walk to which is where the port is for the ferry to take you across the lake. There are also further restaurants and a bar which again were brilliantly priced.||Up in the little town near the campsite is a bakery, coffee shops and restaurants all well priced and selling lovely food and drink. It is a great little place.||The swimming pool on site was clean and has a smaller pool for younger children. There were always beds available throughout the day, however you must wear swimming caps. We purchased ours from intersport prior to our holiday as we were unsure how much these would cost on site. But going on the price of other things on site I would expect there are reasonably priced. ||There is also a lovely park near to reception for the kids.| |The on site shop again was well priced and offered a good range of food and drink. You order baguettes the day before for the following morning and they are freshly baked. They also offer croissants and pain au chocolat which were delicious! ||The staff were very friendly all over the site and always offered a warm welcome. ||On the last day when we checked out the lady came down to check the accommodation as you must clean this upon leaving which I didn't mind doing. Some sites ask you to pay for the clean which is around €25 - €35 so I prefer to do this myself. ||All in all we loved this place and we are booking to go back next year with our family. It is a gem of a campsite and we all truly enjoyed it. I would recommend this...
Read moreMy family and I came to Lake Garda for a long weekend. Camping Fontanelle was recommended to us by friends. We are so happy we took their recommendation. We stayed in a Dahlia mobile home. It was immaculate upon our arrival and cool inside thanks to the a/c. There are two bedrooms each with it own bathroom. The sitting/dining/kitchen area is what I imagined it would be. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils, dishes and pots and pans. Bring toilet paper (there will not be any) and you might want your own blankets. They have some here but they feel like wool and are a little coarse on the skin. There is an outdoor covered seating area with table, chairs, lounge chairs and small grill. They also provide a drying rack for clothing/towels. ||The beach is covered in rocks so I recommend bringing water shoes. The beach is very clean and the water was the perfect temperature. ||The pool was great. Not crowded at all. Loads of seating chairs and lounge chairs and umbrellas for shade. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Swim caps are mandatory so bring those too or you can buy on site.||There is a restaurant which was very good, an ice cream/snack stand, a store (where we purchased the swim caps & water shoes and also has some groceries). Prices overall were very reasonable. ||My only real complaint is that the wifi signal is extremely weak. We have been so busy it has not been a real issue for us but be aware. If you need it for work or something like that I am not sure it would do you any good.||We would and will...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Italy, in our Motorhome. Initially our designated pitch wasn't available as the other occupants hadn't left. Thankfully another pitch was available which was a godsend as we would have had great difficulty manouvering our home into the other space. The spaces are pretty tight, especially where caravans have awnings, and perhaps a pup tent too.||The pool area is everything others have said - although the times are quite limiting - 10 - 1pm and 3 - 7pm. I would have preferred an early swim, however the lake is acessible outside of these times. But you will need beach shoes as the rocks and stones hurt.||We had a dog with us, and were told there was a section of the beach available, but the rocks hurt his feet too!||The site is on a hill, but it is easy walking down the seafront on a quality boardwalk. The walk up to the village (too steep for cycling) offered more choices of restaurant and shops and free entertainments in the ampitheatre, but wsa challenging walk in the heat, and necessary to get tourist information and a further walk to get to the bus stop! Because we use our motorhome with bicycles (trailer for dog) to get about, this wasn't an ideal site for us, but it was a sociable, friendly site, with helpful staff. Lots of people on site took boats, or water sport eqipment. For these access was great. Lots of food shopping choices available within...
