Absolutely horrendous to see a park where the gardens are immaculate but the animals suffer so much. Enclosures with water full of slime and muck for water animals, dams green and poor fish having to live surrounded by filth, big pelicans 4 to a cage with no space to spread their wings and water so shallow the can't paddle. Not to mention 17 big turtles in one enclosure with a bath smaller than two standard bathtubs and so shallow... the poor migrating birds are in cages so full that there arent even space for them to hide from the cold because there are only 7 tiny bird houses inside the cage and 50 little birds... it is sad to proudly say it's a well taken care of park when it is absolutely not true. The park is currently free to enter, why not charge €3 per person and use the money to change the state of your animal enclosures???? Is it a question of laziness or no funds in the end and why do plants get better treatment than animals. A very...
Read moreIt has potential to be great but right now it’s sad there were some way to full cages a lot way to tiny. It’s great that it’s free but I’d rather pay a few euros and have the birds be happier. I wish I took a pic of the 2 really full ones because that was crazy like very low estimate small 50 birds in a 2m aviary. If you imagine how they would naturally live how far they would fly. Some had absolutely no room especially the birds of pray. I don’t take many pictures and videos because it felt gross but this one I think you can see the ill foot and the shiver there was no inside for allot of them (this one at least had a tiny hatch poopcoverd) and it was 9c° and raining heavily. The green looks nice and if they halved the amount of birds and gave them more space and enrichment. It would be a great...
Read moreThe Park is special, but, as always, Palermo is unable to give a decent tourist experience. Besides the really short and strange open hours, they did not offer any kind of solution for tourists coming with bicicles or electric scooters. Even more, if you are with a kid (2 years old in our case) that has a bike, they will not let you in with those (even if they are not riding them, of course), nor will they offer any kind of parking space or anything. They simply said that we should come with a taxi and that is not their problem if we let them at the entrance and they get stolen. Palermo is a beautiful city, but is still somewhere in the year 2000 from many...
