As an Alfa Romeo owner in the US, a Giulia ❤️, it was a no brainer that I was taking my son to this museum when we visited Milan!
It is a lovely museum, however, it needs the last push to make it truly worth the 25 minute drive from the center of Milan.
I think the museum is well designed despite it feeling a little outdated, however, I am bias because I am such a fan of Alfa. My father owned an Alfa 33 in the early 80’s when we were posted in Italy. I grew up with Alfa in my blood. My first car I learned to drive on was my dad’s 33 and his friend’s spider. I taught my son how to drive on my Giulia when he was 14. I am trying to get him addicted as well despite the fact that I ended up parting with my Giulia at the end of my lease for reasons unrelated to this museum.
The history of Alfa Romeo is really well outlined in the museum, the media experience was great, but I feel like towards the end, the Giulia section was very weak! Giulia has an incredible history for Alfa. Giulia has changed the world of racing. Let’s celebrate it as such please.
Let’s admit it, Giulia and the current line up of Alfa makes Alfa the sexiest car brand on the road globally! The advertisements to debut the Giulia in the US were spectacular! I am bias and will always love Alfa, however the museum did not leave my 16 year old feeling the same.
As such my review is mixed in order to be honest with a brand I love and want to see succeed. I was, and will always remain, in love with Alfa. I was still in love at the end of our visit, however, my 16 year old son wanted more interactive displays like the ones we experienced in a museum in Stuttgart. These leave an impression for the younger minds. Understanding the incredible engineering put in these machines. The sound. The design of the interior. All these are very important for a younger mind to get hooked!
Alfa team: take this as a feedback from a very loyal fan: you have and always have had the sexiest cars on the road, let’s represent the new lineup with a little more detail to continue growing the love! How about the genius designers behind this lineup? How about the design process? Etc…
Visitors: if you are a true fan of Alfa like I am, you will leave in love with the past. The future is not fully represented, but please still make it a point to go in order to encourage the Alfa love. Please set your expectation and keep the love in your heart…it is a very...
Read moreI loved this museum! It is well worth going to see it. The experience in which they surround you from the moment you arrive until you finish the tour is great, they really surround you with the brand, its history, its cars, they have a 3D movie theater (I recommend a more real movie experience), everything is impeccable!!! clean, the staff is very friendly.
I would just like to highlight two points that have a lot of opportunities for growth or improvement:
You should have precise instructions on how to get to this museum by public transport. I am a tourist, I went alone, by public transport and it was a very difficult journey to get there. Really, I almost gave up but I managed and finally I can do it.
You involve us so much in the brand, that in the end of the tour, is very disappointing when you arrive at the cafeteria. I suggest that in the cafeteria you can continue with the experience that have in the museum. The sandwich that they give does have the logo, but it is cold, without a joke and it is expensive. You could give hamburger with potatoes and everything with the brand. Continue involving the user with the brand and the experience.
When I was there, my mind had many ideas for all that without having to be so expensive, that it could be really cool and everyone would stay and eat there. More...
Read moreAs an Alfisti or dedicated Alfa Romeo car enthusiasts, the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, Milano, is a pilgrimage you cannot miss. As an Alfa collector and proud owner of a 1982 GTV 6, I was thrilled by the museum's impressive collection that beautifully showcases the brand’s evolution and heritage.
The exhibits span Alfa Romeo's earliest years, highlighting its innovation and design legacy. You’ll journey through the golden age of sporty classics from the 1950s and 60s and experience the brand’s modern-day marvels. A particular highlight is the special focus on Alfa’s competition cars, which celebrate its Grand Prix victories and endurance racing achievements. These vehicles are more than cars—they are pieces of automotive art and engineering brilliance.
Beyond the exhibits, the museum has a well-curated atmosphere, with each section offering engaging insights into Alfa Romeo’s impact on automotive history. And after soaking in the legacy, the café provides a pleasant spot to unwind with decent coffee and snacks.
Whether you’re an Alfa owner, a car collector, or simply an admirer of automotive excellence, the Alfa Romeo Museum is a gem that will leave you inspired and nostalgic. Highly...
