Review - August 25th Visit
Well, in the beginning, it was a good customer service experience. The staff member was polite enough to show me to the toilet and explained how to use the self-service for the yogurt, which I appreciated. However, things took a turn for the worse as we continued our visit.
We were a family with a fairly large order, and as I had already weighed my yogurt and was waiting for the rest of the order to be completed, I took a small bite. I understand the need to pay before consuming, and when she pointed it out, it was fair enough. But soon after, she began to pressure us to pay, even though my father was still in the process of ordering additional ice cream cones. It felt rushed and impolite, especially as she kept repeating the price in both English and German, seemingly ignoring our efforts to finalize our order.
At one point, my dad attempted to give her a $20 bill directly, but she pointed to a machine instead. We weren’t aware that payments had to be made via the machine, which added some confusion. During this interaction, she made a comment in Italian to her co-workers, which led to them laughing. While the laughter might have been lighthearted, it left us feeling a bit awkward and self-conscious, as we were clearly unfamiliar with their payment process.
Throughout the entire interaction, even though we tried to remain friendly and understanding, the staff’s attitude made the experience uncomfortable. While the ice cream itself was good, the service we received overshadowed the quality of the product. The way we were treated, especially as foreigners unfamiliar with their system, was less than welcoming.
Based on this experience, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place to others, especially if you’re unfamiliar with their processes or if you have a large order. It’s unfortunate that what could have been a pleasant visit was marred by poor customer service. The ice cream may be worth it, but the overall experience...
Read moreGreat example how unfriendly treatment with the guests can ruin the whole impression, even if the product is good. The owner/manager tried to teach me in aggressive way how I as a customer should quickly order and was very annoyed with my additional questions, only wanted that I pay as soon as possible. The other guy started to advise me that I should smile more (always thought it is idea of the gastronomy personnel to be friendly and make people smile, and they dissapointed me instead). Then they were trying to put 4 flavours in one small box, that is somehow called grande. Crazy thing is if you order 2 flavours, they give you the same box and call it piccolo. So I preffered to get my money back, because the manager suggested this as an option all the time. Worst treatment in sunny and friendly Rimini out of all my visits to different places, I have been visiting this city already at least 10 times and myself work in hospitality...
Read moreWe may never get used to the fact that in Italy it is customary to open establishments whenever the staff wants, and the schedule does not work here. We wanted to enjoy lemon sorbet before the plane, arrived at 10 am according to the opening schedule, but we were angrily asked to wait 20 minutes and also clarified that there is no coffee here. Why do you consider tourists idiots? It is...
