Il ponte, il castello ed il “borghetto” sono insieme un' interessante terna da esplorare che attira molti turisti, tempo per la visita circa 1 ½ h. I parcheggi nelle vicinanze costano 2 €/h ma nel centro del paese uno abbastanza capiente è gratuito.

La costruzione del ponte fortificato fu iniziata nel 1393 dal duca di Milano intimorito da una possibile tentativo di espansione dei veneti nei suoi territori e per supportare una sua stessa invasione dello stato rivale, fu terminato in due anni. E' lungo circa 600 metri e largo 25, ai lati della strada centrale cresce la vegetazione: quando aveva già perso di importanza ed era in stato di abbandono veniva anche utilizzato per far pascolare il bestiame. La campata centrale venne fatta esplodere dalla Repubblica di Venezia nel XVII secolo per renderla inutilizzabile nel caso di un attacco degli spagnoli che nel frattempo avevano conquistato Milano. Venne ricostruita inizialmente in legno e solo nel 1930 rifatta in ferro per consentire il transito di automobili.

Il castello venne costruito nel XIII dagli Scaligeri ( i veronesi ), attualmente ingresso gratuito al cortile tutti i giorni dalle 10 alle 19, sulle torri si può salire solo il sabato e la domenica dalle 10 alle 13 e dalle 15 alle 18, biglietto 2,5 €.

Borghetto sul Mincio to średniowieczna dobrze zachowana część dzisiejszej miejscowości Valeggio sul Mincio, na pograniczu Lombardii i Wenecji Euganejskiej, która zaliczana jest do jednej z najpiękniejszych średniowiecznych wsi we Włoszech. Borghetto jest niewielkie ale bardzo urokliwe i romantyczne, usytuowane tuż przy rzece Mincio z licznymi młynami i ujściami wodnymi, a uliczki przepełnione są małymi knajpkami i licznymi dekoracjami kwiatowymi. Miasteczko miało ogromne znaczenie w Średniowieczu, a nawet czasach nowożytnych gdyż jego strategiczne położenie oraz fortyfikacyjny most Visconteo pozwalały z łatwością przemierzać się z południa na zachód w stronę ziem weneckich. W centrum miasteczka jest mały most z którego widać fortyfikacje oraz urocze lokaliki,  wokół rzeki znajdują się też inne punkty widokowe. Tuż ponad miasteczkiem, znajduje się zamek Scaligero, na który zaprowadzi nas niewielki szlak o długości ok. 2 km. Na zamku można wejść na wieżę i podziwiać widoki z góry.
