Caffè Visconti - Fraz.Borghetto — Restaurant in Valeggio sul Mincio

A bout a week ago ( 12/09/2018) we and couple of friends and our children , visited the lovely village of borghetto and sat down in café Visconti. The staff was very unfriendly and looked like they were scared of the owner of the café for a reason that we did not know. We sat for a while and ordered some drinks and some desserts and then we decided to move on. One of us talked to the owner and asked for the bill. It was about 36 euro. My friend gave him 50 euros in one note, that he had put in his pocket and then instead of giving back my friend the rest of the money (14 euro) he asked my friend to pay him the money. My friend told him that he had already paid him 50 euros that he put in his pocket, but the owner of the café said that my friend did not do so, and that they are cctv cameras and everything is filmed and that he will call the police… Because they were children with us we did not want to confront him. we paid again and left. We took the pike fish that was just not tasty at all for us, we didn’t touch the meal and asked to give it back politely. The waitress didn’t even say she’s sorry for the experience, or suggested something else. She just took it and asked “coffee?”, well, no, of course not. When we came to pay the bill we were surprised that the place didn’t want to refund us for it and they said that it’s not their problem, IT OUR PROBLEM (they actually said it). Do your self a favor, don't go there. When sitting at the porch the noise of the water is to loud to have a good chat. We have ordered 2 cod fish with polenta, we are not local and do not have experience with it so we decided to try. In the first bite we knew we don't like it and asked the waiteres to order something else. We wanted to order something that will be ready fast, so we ordered cheese plate. The cheese plate took a long time to arrive and it was only one type of cheese and not a special one.
