Nestled amidst the scenic landscapes of Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture, Kawaguchi Lake transforms into a magical haven during the autumn season. During my recent visit to this picturesque destination, I had the pleasure of experiencing the captivating beauty of Kawaguchi Lake adorned with vibrant red foliage.
The sight of the fiery red leaves reflecting in the calm waters of the lake was truly a sight to behold. The combination of Mount Fuji's majestic presence and the vibrant hues of the autumn foliage created a mesmerizing tableau. Every turn revealed a new tapestry of colors, and I found myself immersed in the tranquil ambiance of nature's seasonal spectacle.
Exploring the vicinity of Kawaguchi Lake during the fall season was an absolute delight. The walking trails meandering through the surrounding forests offered an opportunity to witness the seasonal transformation up close. The crisp air, the rustling leaves underfoot, and the gentle whispers of nature all contributed to a serene and immersive experience.
Photography enthusiasts will find Kawaguchi Lake in autumn to be a true paradise. The vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows of the foliage against the backdrop of Mount Fuji provided endless opportunities for capturing stunning images. Every click of the camera revealed the sheer beauty of this natural landscape.
During my stay, I chose to indulge in traditional Japanese cuisine at one of the local inns. The delicate flavors and seasonal ingredients perfectly complemented the autumn ambiance. From savoring warm bowls of hot pot to relishing freshly prepared tempura, every meal was a delightful culinary experience.
The only reason I didn't give Kawaguchi Lake a full 5-star rating for the autumn season is the increasing popularity and crowds that can be encountered during peak leaf-viewing periods. While the scenery is undoubtedly breathtaking, the influx of tourists can occasionally disrupt the tranquility. Nevertheless, with careful planning and exploring off-the-beaten-path spots, one can still find pockets of solitude to fully immerse in the autumn splendor.
In conclusion, Kawaguchi Lake in autumn is a captivating destination that offers a serene retreat amidst nature's colorful transformation. With its breathtaking scenery, tranquil ambiance, and delightful culinary experiences, it is a place that deserves high praise. I highly recommend visiting Kawaguchi Lake during the fall season to witness the spectacle of nature's palette and create unforgettable memories.

It was a one good morning at the Metropolitan Ikebukuro Hotel, there was more time to find right train than yesterday destination to Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort and this time we need to find train called KAIJI at Shinjuku Station (distance from Ikebukuro to Shinjuku is about 10 minutes), also I need to buy our own 1 pass ticket from Ikebukuro-Shinjuku cost ¥160/person (or US$ 1.4 or IDR 17.300). I Swear to God, at first I thought 3 times train changing it would be scary, but when I arrived at Shinjuku station, look around the line before the train come and find so many tourists there, I know I will be fine.
Kaiji train arrived at 9.30 to Otsuki Station (its reserved seat train), during the journey you will find yourself amazing view outside the window.
Arrived at Otsuki Station at 10:37, I need to change the train to Free Seat Fuji Tokkyu, train with animated Mt. Fuji all over its body and then depart at 10:47. Thank God, the ticket was on my hand (this is the perk you get when you buy the JR Tickets already before the trip), so I do not need to wait in line buy or change tickets, just move through the gate, the train was already there.
Then arrived at 11:32, Kawaguchiko Station is most likely like woody mountain house, very classic and warm, but I don’t really get the top 40 songs as a background, I mean why? Anyway, actually you need to change the JR Pass Ticket to some postcard at the locket (but I assumed there was nothing left postcard once I arrived so my JR Pass Ticket is a pass that day). I got free time to ride the shuttle bus only for appointed spot called Red Line (Spot no. 1 to no.22).
Kawaguchiko Lake is surrounded by so many attractions, the highlight spots including; No.7 Kawaguchiko Herb Hall No.8 Yamanashi Gem Museum No.11 Sightseeing Boat & Ropeway No.16 Kawaguchiko Museum of Art No.17 Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum No.22 Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center & Oishi Park

Beautiful panoramic view. Speed boat, paddle boats and a steamer is available for 15 to 20-minute ride. We were a family of 5 adults and 2 children and hired a speed boat for ¥10000. We enjoyed the 15-minute ride thoroughly.
Our first view of Mount Fuji was with clear blue skies, perfect view of the lake with sakura in shot as well. The lake was an excellent to base our trip to visit Fuji-san and we loved the area.
There is an available cruise tour bundled with the Cable Car on the mountain. It doesn't cost that much and its pretty worth it. The ship has multiple sections where you can sit and see the scenery of the lake and Mt. Fuji.
I just love lakes, any lakes in general so this lake is no exception. There are plenty of attraction around this lake so this is definitely not a lake you want to miss. But if you come here for a photo of Fujiyama you might need to check the weather forecast because sometimes the mountain hides behind thick fogs and clouds See it...
