This is one of the best hostels I’ve been to!
The host provides pick up and drop off at kawaguchiko station (check with host on availability) and the place is so clean! The roses in the garden are beautiful. There are enough bathrooms, and there is a separate door to split the wet and dry areas, so your dry clothes will not get wet. And there’s a rack to store your belongings when you shower.
There is only one man running the place but he is really friendly and helpful. This place is his childhood home so you can tell he really takes care of the place. It really made me sad to leave the hostel - he always asks “how was your day?” “Where did you go?” “Is it cold?” - so he can adjust the temperature. He made sure to show me my bed in private, and took care to lower his voice while mentioning the bed location. Staying here felt like staying in an uncle’s place 🥺
For LADIES: The host provided sanitary pads in the ladies washroom in case of emergencies!! This is the first time I’ve seen pads being provided? And there’s a separate sink in the ladies which I appreciate so I can wash up in private. Do note it’s for sharing though.

Read moreWow this was such a great hostel to stay at! ||The owner and host is super attentive and will see to it that you’re having a wonderful stay. The beds are a little softer than the regular Japan hostels but for some can still be a bit hard. ||The shower area is clean and really nice. 3 showers for the hostel and never had to wait since there is a main room before the showers where you can go to the toilet and fix your hair and touch up your face. ||The common room is also wonderful and has splendid views of Fuji with the right weather! We had the luxury of having good weather and snow in 2 days! The hostel offers some food and drinks as well. ||Rent bikes here for 1/3 of the cost in the main town (500 yen) and the owner even offers a pick up and drop at the nearby train station. He can also recommend some good trips to Fuji, the surrounding area and restaurants for breakfast/dinner/lunch. ||All in all when coming back to Fuji I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hostel...
