Took a steep climb to get to the castle ruins and we were pleasantly surprised!
Beautiful park and meticulously well maintained. Paths are clear and the natural surroundings are groomed to take visitors through a journey around the castle, regardless of the direction you chose to start with! There are multiple directions of entry and exits with rest stops and restrooms available. A stimulating walk with winding paths and different elevations.
The Ikeda castle tower also has a wheelchair-accessible staircase to be able to experience the height of the castle at the top, which I thought was extremely thoughtful in its design.
My favourite part of this experience has been the ability to feed the carps in the koi pond!! Carp feed is 100 yen. Be ready for them to flock to you (they expect it even if you might not have food 😅).
