Very friendly English speaking staff. You can rent a bicycle for free, just pay a 2000¥ deposit, which you will get back when you return the bicycle. It's a 10-15 minute leisurely ride to the end of road, which is a dead end. There's a very little red light house there. Very calm picturesque village. There are many tourists.

Really not much to do in the town (in early december) if you are not staying in town (or taking the tour boat). We fed the sea gulls at the carpark and was done with the town in like 15min taking photos. I had the feeling that most of the Japanese who visited thought similarly as the cars at the carpark changed quickly. The sake brewery is also out of the their famous brew 伊根满开 (though it can be found in abundance at kinosaki and tore tore rest stop resellers).

Very helpful people, and lovely area. We came here on a trip from Australia and they were very helpful with all our questions, even with the language barrier. I couldn’t recommend visiting this area enough and make sure to talk to the ladies in here. They are super sweet :)

伊根の舟屋が見学は案内所で申し込みます。 大人800円、子供400円 高い？と思いきやコスパ最高です。ぜひ申し込んでください。 舟屋は３つ見ることが出来ました。 ・2階からの見晴らしを楽しむ舟屋 ・漁業生活の面影が残る舟屋 ・舟屋見学が出来る舟屋幸洋丸 この1つ目の2階から伊根の舟屋を楽しめる舟屋はとてもお勧めで、何時間でもいれます。それくらい落ち着く場所で、何かおばあちゃんの家に来たような感覚になります。天気が良いとほんと最高です。 でも1番は案内所のお姉さんの熱い想いを聞くことが良いです。 申し込むと案内してくれますが、伊根の舟屋が好きになり、移住された方。この方が伊根の舟屋の観光を盛り上げるために頑張っておられるんだなとヒシヒシ感じさせられました。案内してくださりありがとうございました！おかげさまでとても充実した時間を過ごせることが出来ました。

今回は時間が早かったので案内所には寄りませんでしたが、とてもきれいな建物でした。案内所横と向かいに町営の駐車場があり、30分は無料でそれ以後は料金がかかります。日中30分200円、夜間30分100円です。正直目の前に舟屋が並んでいて、特別見る所はないので舟屋を間近で見るだけで良いなら30分で十分かと思います。向井酒造さんもここからはそう遠くないですよ！海側にある案内板の所に電話番号が書いてあり、そこへ電話すると海上タクシーが来てくれるそうで、料金は1人30分1000円となっていました。事前にホームページから予約も出来るようですが、電話して空いていれば当日でも伊根湾をクルッとまわってくれるそうです。お時間のある方は利用されても良いかも知れませんね。
