One of the best sashimi meals I’ve had anywhere in Japan — and that’s saying something. This hidden gem in Amanohashidate absolutely blew us away with the quality, freshness, and care that went into every dish. We came here after a morning walk across the sandbar, hoping for something light and local — and ended up having a truly unforgettable lunch. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented, with a variety of seasonal fish that had clearly just come from the nearby waters. Every bite was delicate and perfectly cut. The tuna (especially the chu-toro) was buttery and rich, the snapper had a perfect firmness, and the uni was unbelievably fresh — sweet, briny, and clean with no trace of bitterness. Beyond the sashimi, we also tried the grilled fish set and a bowl of miso soup that came with little clams — small details, but they really elevated the entire meal. The rice was fluffy and fragrant, the pickles were crisp and flavorful, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. You could really tell the chefs here care about what they serve. The staff were kind and welcoming, despite our limited Japanese, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the meal. The interior is cozy, with warm wood accents and large windows that let in natural light. If you sit by the window, you can even catch a glimpse of the water — a peaceful reminder of where your meal came from. Prices were very fair for the quality, and honestly, I would have paid more. This is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself — no gimmicks, just incredible ingredients treated with respect. If you're visiting Amanohashidate and want a truly local food experience, don’t miss this place. It’s worth making time for, whether you’re a serious foodie or just someone who wants a great meal by the sea. I’d come back in...
Read moreI booked the 8800yen dinner set for my parents' wedding anniversary. Given that Ine is a very touristy spot and not many restaurants are open at night, I figured it might be overpriced and mediocre, but I couldn’t be more wrong as this turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we have had in all of Japan.
Each dish was exquisitely crafted and beautifully presented, and they didn’t shy away from premium ingredients. The flavours and combinations were bold and interesting, but well balanced. For example their cheese tart was really salty on its own, but when paired with whipped cream and fruit, and tea, the flavours were in perfect harmony. For their beef dish, the drizzled sauce was also really savoury but mellowed the heaviness of the highly marbled beef and complemented the sweetness from the juicy chunky onions. Before this I also had no idea that lightly torched Camembert cheese could pair that well with daikon fukumeni and beef.
For appetisers, they even threw in some twists on Okinawan classics, like peanut tofu and vinegar seaweed (muzuku), which I really appreciated
Their portions are also really generous - you won't leave hungry, that's for sure. So, if you're up for a culinary adventure and want to experience the full flair of what they have to offer don't think twice about splurging on their 8,800yen set. It’s well worth your time and money, just be sure to book...
Read moreA perfect meal in a perfect town! The set dinner menu was phenomenal - the miso soup, grilled mackerel and sashimi were particularly good. We also enjoyed the local red sake from Mukai, which paired with the food very well. The price was also very reasonable for the quality of food and service - be sure to make a reservation in advance, though, because it is a small restaurant.
Ine is a special place and Kajiya made it even more memorable. We hope we can...
