We may have been our own fault for misreading the instructions about maximum number of adults for lodging. But we felt no empathy from the owner but being totally ripped off. In the whole process, my husband has to plead for owner to help accomodate our young child as it was already late in the evening and we simply were not able to get alternative lodging. Finally after a long process, the owner insistently said either we stay as 4 adults or pay extra 20,000yen for the kid to stay one night. We felt the extra charges was unreasonable, as it is a full adult pricing and there isnt any more mattress and blankets for our kid. We asked for more reasonable fees but were refused flatly a few times. i guess we were in no position to negotiate as it was late already.
