Kenjo Soba Haneya — Attraction in Izumo

Izumo is known for Izumo soba so I wanted to eat some before leaving the city. There are A LOT of soba shops in Izumo, so I just chose one -- I didn't have any recommendations to go off of. I chose this place based on the ratings/reviews.

It was very crowded when I went, around 1pm on a holiday (bank holiday -- no work/school). I waited quite a long time to be seated, but the sign-in system was efficient. They use a tablet sign-in system instead of a paper system. Just name, how many people, table or counter, that kind of thing.

There is an upstairs seating area and downstairs. I was seated downstairs at the counter. I had the buckwheat noodle set meal. Came with tempura. I'm not very experienced when it comes to soba, so I don't think it was anything particularly special. But I believe that's because I don't know soba well. The tempura was delicious though!! we came here as the soba place with the most reviews. From outside it looked expensive and so it was - we paid 18000 Y each for the 3 bowl cold warigo-soba - it was OK but nothing special - next time I'll try a cheaper local like ほしえん手打そば where we enjoyed gyoza and ramen last night - it offered a similar soba for probably like a third...

出雲観光でぜっっっったいに 行って欲しいお店をご紹介します❗️💪 説明文多いですがマジで美味いので、 勉強がてら読んでってくだされ🥳

▲ ちなみに割子そばの食べ方ミスってますw 本当は汁を直接割子の中に入れるんで、 僕の真似はしないでね⁉️ ノーマル食べ方でも普通に絶品🤤🤤 ぜひ食べ方学んでからチャレンジ❗️

こちらは江戸末期より続く老舗で、 古き良き伝統を守りつつ 新しいものも取り入れる、 真の蕎麦が食べられるお店です✨✨ 店内めちゃくちゃ綺麗で、 座敷や庭園なんかもあり、 古風な造りでとっても落ち着けました！

今回は三連休の中日だったので50分待ち。 だけど、受付機械があるから 列にずっと並ぶ必要はありません‼️ 近くに狛犬が龍で有名な 「八雲神社」があり、 待ち時間にそちらへお詣りできます✨ 須佐之男命を祀っているパワーのある神社⛩️

献上そばの由来としては、 明治時代、大正天皇が出雲にお泊まりになり、 その時に羽根屋さんが蕎麦を差し上げました。 大層気に入られたらしく、 「献上」という特別な名前を冠することに 許可をいただけたそうです。

⭐︎ 頂いたメニュー ☑︎ 天ぷら割子3段定食 ¥2,150 サクサク天ぷら盛りと 割子に入れられた出雲蕎麦が3段、 味噌汁と味付けご飯があります! ガッツリ目ですが、 上手すぎてサクッと食べられます✨✨

そばの香りが今まで食べた中でも トップレベルで、 ぜひ最初はつゆをつけずに食べて欲しい🤤 薬味も沢山あるので 自分好みの食べ方でも最高に美味いです。 みんな感動するはず🥹

出雲大社（正式名称:いずもおおやしろ） は大国主大神を祀る社で、 4世紀より前にあったとも言われてます。 ミステリー面でも話題になりがちな出雲、 ぜひ皆さんも訪れてください✨✨ エジプトとのつながりや、 巨人伝説とか神話とか すんごい繋がりが見えてきます❗️ （都市伝説好きマン）
