A Quiet Piece of History in the Forest This old shrine, dating back several centuries, carries a silent strength. It reflects the passage of time — many of the original torii gates are gone, but restoration work is underway. The area is peaceful, almost sacred, with smaller shrines scattered along narrow paths winding up through the forest. It’s a perfect spot for shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) — to walk slowly, breathe in the scent of the woods, and feel the spirit of the place. A word of caution: snakes may appear further up the trail, so stay aware and dress accordingly. But if you’re passing by, it’s well worth a stop.

静かに厳かに山の頂から町を見守る神社。 御朱印をお願いすると社務所に上がらせて頂いてテーブルに向き合い、 会話をしながら御朱印を書いて下さいます。 宮司さんが不在で、お母様か奥方様か分かりませんでしたがご対応頂き、 神社の昔話や、地域のお話などをのんびり伺いました。 また、宮司さんが御朱印を認めるときは、参拝者の雰囲気を観て、何か一言添えて下さるそうです。 皇族所縁の神社ですが戦後の皇籍離脱に絡んで皇室の崇敬の影響が弱まり、 教師や医師を兼業して支えているとおっしゃっていました。 宮司さんが居られるときにもう一度、伺ってみたいですね。 追伸 現在裏山道は通行不可（2019/7/30）。 それを知らずに下から登って変な所に出てしまいました・・・。

Really beautiful and quiet shrine. Although be warned that there's more than 200+ steps before you get to it. There are some small chairs on the way up which you can use to...
