Takaragaike Pond & Park 宝が池(公園) Located in Sakyo-ku near Kyoto International Conference Hall. This pond Takaragaike Pond is a place for locals to enjoy various activities. A lot of people enjoy nice scenic walk around the pond. It is always nice to have those small mountains in the backdrop when you take a walk around the pond. The surrounding area is entirely a park for leasure activities. This spacious park next to the pond is lovingly called " Kodomono Rakuen = Paradise for kids " has various playground equipments to keep a child entertained. You get an access leading to a great hiking trail around the pond. The greatest point of this place is that it is never been promoted as a tourist attraction of Kyoto. People you see in this place are mostly the locals who come here to relax in the beauty of nature. Takaragaike Pond can be a great spot for viewing seasonal highlights such as flowers of spring, wildlife and fire works of summer time, colored leaves of autumn.

Escaped from a busy downtown, it is a very pleasant place to relax yourself. This is a spectacular park. Ideal for walking and jogging. There is a track that takes you up a hill for spectacular views of the mountains. There are deer and birds. The air is fragrant with the smell of the trees, On asunday morning it was great to see the community groups walking and talking .
