Kounkaku — Attraction in Matsue

Kounkaku was built by Matsue City as the Matsue City Crafts Exhibition Hall. Construction began in December 1902 and was completed the following September 1903. It was originally intended to be used as a temporary residence for Emperor Meiji, and is finished in an ornate style with many ornaments and carvings. Although the emperor's tour did not ultimately take place here, in 1907, Crown Prince Yoshihito (later Emperor Taisho) toured the San'in region, and the building was used as an inn and guesthouse from May 22nd to 25th of that year.

엔틱한 분위기의 건물. 건물안에는 텅 비어 있어서 특별히 볼것은 없지만 건물 외관이 특이하고 내부에 쉴수 있는 의자도 있다. 2층 테라스에서 보는 뷰도 나쁘지 않다. 1층에 작은 카페가 있으나 특이함은 보이지 않아서 이용하지 않았다. 성 방문시 보게되는 건물이라서 나쁘지 않았다. 재방문의사는 있습니다.a building with an antique atmosphere. 松江神社の横に建っている洋風な建物。 松江市が1900年初めに松江市工芸品陳列初として建てた建物で、当初明治天皇の行在所に使用する目的が有ったため、装飾･彫刻を多く用いた華麗な仕上げになっているのだそう。 時局が厳しく、明治天皇のい巡幸は実現しなかったものの、のちの大正天皇が皇太子時代に御旅館として使用され、迎賓館としての役割を果たしたそうです。 2011年に閉館し、建物そのものの持つ歴史と魅力を生かした新たな活用のため、2013年～2015年にかけて保全修理工事を行い、今に至るのだとか。 1階にはこの館の歴史や保全修理工事について知ることができる展示室とカフェがあります。 赤い絨毯が敷かれた階段を上がって2階へ行くと、とても広い大広間になっています。こちらは有料で貸切使用も可。 奥には大正天皇が皇太子時代に使われたお部屋「貴顕室」があり、入ることは出来ませんが、覗いてみることが出来ます。カーテンや絨毯は洋風の素敵なデザインですが、畳の部屋もあるところは面白いなと思いました。 大広間には椅子もあり、腰を掛けてゆっくりと雰囲気を味わうのも良さそうです。 有り難いことに、そんな歴史と明治の雰囲気を味わえる建物ながら、誰でも無料で入館出来るので、素敵な雰囲気を味わって...
