Check the time of lantern festival. It is beautiful scenery in the evening. Even if you want to buy originally made in Japan souvenir- come here. Smell of the old shops, handmade things -knowledge passed from generation to generation. We were on 'Knife festival' in Seki, Gifu prefecture (it is every first weekend in october) it was very hot day(last year too), and we wanted to refresh ourself on the river.
