Sakai Winery — Attraction in Nanyo

If you visit Akayu for the hot springs, why not stop by to enjoy a little wine tasting afternoon?

In my opinion, in Akayu:

Hot Springs=Takenami Hotel View=Eboshiyama Park Lunch=Akayu Ramen Afternoon "delight"=Sakai Winery Nighttime excitement=visiting the day use hot springs around the town

The winery features tasting of the semi-sweet Birdup Wine, various snacks made from wine, grapes and local Yamagata fruit, and ice cream. In the summer, there is outdoor dining but we usually visit in the winter, so that is not an option.

I strongly suggest you add Sakai Winery to your Akayu itinerary

Pro Tip If so inclined, you can buy "the deed" to your own grapevine and drink the wine that the vintners cultivate from your own personal grapes. Not necessarily of interest to everyone but we participated and enjoyed the "fruits" of their labor...
