NSG Museum — Attraction in Niigata

I was heading to the beach when l came across thus little gem. It was 300 yen to enter.

Everything was written in Japanese so no idea who the artist was. But the exhibition itself needed no words. I was blown away by the experience.

There is also small space with other art as well as a communal room with flower display.

After rushing around on trains all day this was such a welcome. Very near ocean and park, twenty minute walk from Niigata Station.

If you have time worth searching it out as you get a real flavour of local art. Photos l have don't do it justice, but you get a flavour of the gallery, better experience it...

Google maps states that it was open, but on arrival closed ahead of exhibition.

Curators don’t have the courtesy to update closure/opening hours, then I would check before planning it visit so you don’t waste your time.

I would not bother making another visit. There are plenty of other art...

2025/04/19(土)訪問。小林幸子さんの衣装の展示を観に来ました。受付でチケットを買おうと近づくと反応が無かったため、「すいません」と声をかけるとようやく反応がありました。手元には、スケッチブックに描いている途中の絵があったため、どうやら寝てたか絵を描いていたのだと思います。 2階にメインの展示があり、小林幸子さんの衣装が展示されていました。どれも美しくて良かったです。しかし、それを台無しにするほどの大音量の小林幸子さんの曲がディスプレイからループ再生しており、集中して観れませんでした。 展示を観にきたのであって、曲を聴きに来たわけではありませんからボリュームを下げたり、ヘッドホンを貸し出して、聴きたい人だけが聴けるようにするなど配慮があ...
