An Unforgettable Ski Experience at An’nupuri, Niseko – March 2025
An’nupuri Niseko is an absolute gem, and my recent ski trip there in March was nothing short of spectacular. Despite the season edging toward spring, the snow cover was still excellent, offering pristine conditions across the mountain. I was lucky enough to score a perfect bluebird day—clear skies, not a breath of wind, and best of all, relatively uncrowded slopes that made for an incredibly enjoyable experience.
What sets An’nupuri apart is its well-balanced variety of runs. From gentle slopes for beginners to more challenging terrain, there’s something for every skill level. The real highlight, though, is Gate 2, where you can hike up to access the untouched backcountry behind the summit. Skiing through Virginia powder and weaving through the trees was an absolute dream—an exhilarating and deeply rewarding experience that any powder enthusiast would appreciate.
Compared to Hirafu, An’nupuri feels underrated, which works in its favor. The lift system is efficient, keeping queues minimal, and everything...

Great place for beginners! Pretty wide space to train and learn!
The quality of snow is really good! And when I was there, 4/9, it’s still snowing heavily! But all people think it’s pretty much off-season, so there were not many people at all! Fantastic experience for 1st time rookies lol.
They have very good quality ski boards. And of course you can rent all kinds of goods there. The whole outfit rental fee is ¥16500. Doesn’t matter peak season or low season.
The food is not bad. There are many resorts you can choose. You can probably rent all the geeks cheaper if you stay at one of them I guess.
Don’t miss the opportunity to challenge all of the four ski resorts by buying the All Pass Ticket!
Though this is the only ski resort which CAN’T see the famous Mt. Youtei (ようていざん), but don’t miss this great...
Read moreThe station is nice while skiing. Very wide trails for ski/snowboard and several lifts including a gondola. But there are not many different trails with different skill levels or different kinda of activities as snow park, salon etc. The resort is connected from the top to the other Niseko mountain resorts. Even though it recommends using credit card due to covid, they charge for the lift ticket an extra tax for paying with credit card and it is not very visible prior to purchase. Also the area has only one simple restaurant at the base and one small cafe in the middle. There is no infrastructure for kids, people waiting (onsen, or other entertainments) and no provision for cleaning the skis (compressed air or brushes). It is a good station to ski with the "all mountain pass" but not to be the initial or only resort to...
