On the morning of December 11, 2018, my son and I walked here from your nearby hotel. We first rented our snowboarding gear here. The receptionist spoke good English and we got what we needed.
We wanted to booked a snowboarding here but it was already full in the morning. Booking for afternoon classes began at 12:30 and we booked a 2-hour 2-person snowboarding class at 13:45 costing Yen 26,000. Our coach was Mananbu and he was excellent in coaching me (64) and my son (20) that we retained him again for another two hours on December 12, 2018.
He coached us from wearing the gear to the many basic skills in snowboarding. Not only that I could stand up and do heel sliding, I picked up toe sliding on the second day. As to my son, he was probably Mananbu’s best student, being able to enjoy snowboarding during and after the second lesson.
We re-energized ourselves by having drinks or food at the New Sanko Restaurant on 1/F. They were of high standards and so were the prices. Read moreWaltzed in here delirious after a half day of snowboarding, in dire need of a meal. It had been 2 years since my last time on a board, so I was getting whooped.
I entered the short line and opted to get a bowl of Hot Miso Ramen and a rice bowl with Galbi Beef. I took my cafeteria tray and went and sat at the counter that had a direct view of the mountain. Great ambiance for a meal.
The bowls weren’t bad, but definitely weren’t good. Just so uninspired… but it’s mountain food and they’re cooking in bulk so I should have expected that.
If you can make it over there, go eat at Bo-Yo-So. Best meal I’ve had on a ski slope in my life.

Read moreFood at Ski Resort Prices as expected. A Yotei Pork Curry with Rice cost about 1350 JPY and it was alright, some bits are tough and dry others were soft and tender. The rice could be better as well. The restaurant have panoramic views of the beginners’ slope and it is a rather nice place to watch the snow and people outside. Prices are expectedly steeper and it might not meet the expectations of visitors who compare it with say a F&B establishment in...
