I swear when the Japanese put their mind to something, they can do it. That includes pizza.
I was staying in Annupuri in the Niseko area, and didn’t realize you needed to have a reservation to eat essentially anywhere. There were only a handful of restaurants within walking distance, so my hands were tied. Pizza Del Sole was the only place I could get into 2 nights in a row.
I was initially disappointed, as I’m in Japan eating pizza? Damn. But honestly, what a blessing in disguise. This pizza was SENSATIONAL. They’re making them from scratch in a woodfire oven, meticulously turning the pizza every few minutes and checking in on them with the attention to detail of a blacksmith in 1827.
The first night I got the Margherita con prosciutto, and the second night I called an audible to the Salame Piccante. That Salame Piccante was the ONE.
The quality of this pizza had me feeling like I was in Naples. I was eating it with a fork and knife too because the vibes were giving Italy. I’m distinguished.
It turned out to be a great break in my diet from raw fish, ramen, soba, katsudon, etc. Sometimes god closes the Japanese cuisine door and opens the pizza window. You gotta just trust in the Good Lord. I will leave you with a quote from John 3:17:
"You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

Read moreIt’s good but also not cheap. All the other reviews show that it’s extremely good and even better than true Italian Naples pizza but flavours wise, I’ve definitely had better pizza elsewhere (they have a very good crust). If you’re craving pizza or just want a break from Japanese, this would be a good choice but don’t expect mind blowing pizza. You also must book in advance. The place is tiny and they have just one oven. We ordered 3 pizza between 2. The worst pizza we got was the del sole pizza. DO NOT GET THIS. It’s so bland. I had to dump some Tabasco on every bite just for a bit of flavour. Idk why they would name one of their worst pizza after themselves but ok. It’s also one of the most expensive pizza on the menu too. Think it was 3600, with no meat. The marg is tasty and pretty classic. I actually forgot the name of the best pizza but it was hot honey with meat. It was served last and thank god. Truly saved the dinner experience after being so hyped up. This pizza was delicious and under 3000 so decent price too for meat pizza. Would I come back? Maybe not, unless for the last pizza. Did I enjoy the...
Read moreAdmittedly the food is ok. Definitely not great! Though I was starving and turned up 5 min after opening time and they told me they could not do take away. Then as I was walking out they said yes you can order a pizza I said can I order 2 please and they said no. You can only order 1 and then after ordering a pizza it came out in less than 5 min. Then they said I could sit down at the bar to eat and would I like a beer?I said yes. So I started eating then 2 minute's later they told me they have a reservation and I must take the pizza away. Then I had to finish the beer right away that I hadn't even started on!!! If it takes a few minutes to prepare a very simple SMALL pizza (that is overpriced) why can't I order 2? There was 5 people in the whole place! The place is kind of unorganized and not really worth it. If you make a booking well in advance you might have a chance of sitting at one of...
