Had some really yummy dishes here. Loved the agedashi tofu—the broth was really think and congee-like, so it was comforting on a cold day. Also, the wagyu was great, and fun since it comes out on a hot stone and you can cook to your liking.
Wasabi mashed potatoes were good, but nothing special. Would’ve preferred to eat the steak with rice instead.
My dislikes: korobe chirashi bowl—wish I would’ve been smarter and looked that up beforehand. Not sure how accurate the translation is but when I looked it up it said “spilling” and “leftovers”. Makes sense to me because when I was eating it, I thought, this tastes like the bad cuts of the fish. So naturally I was upset after hearing amazing things about Hokkaido seafood and this being my first go at it. And for ¥3500 🙂↔️
My husband asked the server for a suggestion on Japanese whiskey, and she weirdly suggested a drink that didn’t actually use Japanese whiskey… which we didn’t realize until we watched the bartender make it and then were surprised it was served to us. It would’ve been better if she had suggested that we ask the bartender for recommendations instead of making something up.
Overall, some good food here, but prices are really expensive. Had some great meals around Annupuri that were reasonably priced and delicious. I also think you can tell that the restaurant staff doesn’t actually know how to efficiently run a kitchen, which affects the overall...
Read moreWhile the restaurant aims for a Japanese-inspired experience, it leans heavily toward Western influences. For instance, the inclusion of French fries with a bit of sprinkled seaweed as a standalone dish in the omakase felt out of place. Service was notably slow, with dinner stretching over two hours (and we didn’t even get to dessert) and inconsistent pacing—cold dishes arrived quickly, but the rest dragged with waiting time of over 15 min between warm dishes. Communication issues among staff further detracted from the experience. Despite sitting at the counter, orders were disorganized, and waiters wandered through the restaurant before serving dishes directly in front of them at the counter table.
At over 10,000¥ per person, with limited drinks (menu, tea, and two beers), the value for money is questionable. Small details, such as reheated bottled tea served in water glasses as “hot green tea,” failed to meet expectations and diminished the overall experience.
That said, there were some highlights: the wagyu nigiri was enjoyable, and while the staff were kind, they...
Read moreWe were lucky to get a booking during peak season, and wow were we absolutely delighted! They arranged a pick up and drop off from our accommodation in Niseko and were very accommodating for the pick up time. Service was excellent, super friendly and it seems like the staff here really get along, good vibes. Now to the food, out of this world good! We had the pickled edamame with chilli threads which was the best I've ever had. Then the tuna tartare, amazing!! Agadeshi tofu with crab sauce, delicious. The tofu must have been made here, so nice! Oyster with smoked oil, fricking amazing. Buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce I'm told was amazing, and the sauce compliments the spice on the wings. Cheesy tofu and honey with crackers, delicious, recommend starting with that. We also received complimentary salmon "sandwiches" which were sooo good. For drinks, we had saki which was sweet and delicious, best saki we've had in Japan so far. Bird beer and red wine also tasty. We highly recommend coming here, should your fingers be so lucky! You...
