Enjoyed this. English tour (audio) is available. They also played a video (English) in a small auditorium to explain the company history and method of making soy sauce. Great store at the end where you can buy many types of soy sauce including one type sold to the emperor’s palace and other things I had never seen before like raw soy sauce, soy sauce flavored with Yuzu (i.e. lemon). If you enjoy soy sauce, then you would enjoy this tour/exhibit to see how it is made and the many ways it can be used. Finally, there is a small cafe where you can buy snacks flavored with soy sauce and even grill your own rice cracker and baste it with soy sauce. Also inside the cafe you can sample over a dozen soy sauce types (like the Yuzu flavor mentioned above).

Fun self guided factory tour where you learn both the process of making soy sauce as well as the history of kikkoman soy sauce. Audio guide is available in multiple languages and is easy to follow. At the end of the tour you are given a bottle of soy sauce and there is a gift shop with both practical and souvenir items. There is also a cafe offering fun items like soy sauce flavored soft serve ice cream, crackers that you toast yourself and a soy sauce taste test with tofu. It is a little off the beaten path so you have to make a trip specifically for it, but it is worth it if you have some time.

Excursion includes short movie (15min) about soy sauce production, different stops during museum tour with more detailed information about every step of a process. Here you can see some parts of production process in reality. All information is provided in English. I’ll spend there approximately 1 hour. Very nice and very welcoming staff. Don’t forget to try soy sauce ice cream in the end of the excursion :) ORGA DETAILS: You should book an excursion time in advance. If you can’t do it by phone, you can reach them by e-mail.

There's a self-guided tour with an English audio guide, a gift shop and a café. Takes about an hour all in all. The tour was interesting but lacked some depth and historical perspective in my opinion (there was more focus on "look at how big this machine is, it can make a gazillion bottles per hour"). Go there only if you're in the area or you're a big soy sauce fan (or you're looking for the long lost vanilla ice cream soy milk flavor - they've got it in the gift shop!).

Weekday is fully booked for guided tour by elementary school group. But you still can enjoy the self guided tour. After the factory tour, we received free soy sauce and soy tea. As for Pre-booked tour, will get the special factory “Naani-chan” logo soy sauce bottle.
