Okayama Prefectural Museum — Attraction in Okayama

It's a beautiful museum, with seemingly a lot of history. Lots of clay, wooden, and bronze statues, along with plenty of historical artwork. Unfortunately there only seem to be 4 rooms with exhibits, which doesn't seem worth 650 yen.

If you don't read Japanese, you may find it disappointing as there is almost no English here (not even pamphlets). Some of the titles of exhibits are in English, though many are not. There are around 150 or so statues/artwork spread throughout the rooms, all with detailed Japanese...

a museum with good collection. 2 floors that take max 45 min to explore. we had discount on entry as had korakuyen garden ticket (visited just before it), after discount 200 yen for entry. first floor has excellent Archaeological collection with english explanation. well described. however, 2nd floor lack such english details. plenty of sword types on 2nd floor. a recommended museum if u are near korakuen garden/okayama castle. Not enough explanations in English, and some parts of the museum looked really austere. Not very pedagogical.
