This place SEEMS like an enjoyable place to learn more about animals that you don't encounter very often, but in reality this was a prison. A hell. I felt very ignorant immediately after this experience. The animals are very clearly drugged. Looking into the eyes of the kangaroo and llama, you can see nothing but emptiness. The blank stare they had brought me back to reality. The enclosure they're in is not enough space for a capybara, llama, 4 kangaroos, 3 owls, 5 tortoises and 2 monkey cages. The 3rd room was most likely 6 meters in width and 15 meters in length. This limits mobility and growth. This experience just shattered my heart. I couldn't help but feel extremely useless. I wish I could take all of these animals and place them back in their natural habitat where they belong. I noticed many children mistreated the llama as well. Putting their weight on his head so he/she would lay down. The llama didn't even put up a fight. He/she has lost all hope. None of the workers addressed the situation either. The animal was right next to the stand to buy snacks for the animals where two employees stood and watch. This brings me to my next point: overfeeding. The Guinea pigs and rabbits in the first room were very clearly overweight. I've had experiences with taking care of both types of animals. Children overfeeding the animals carrots caused a serious weight gain. The tortoises in this section as well hid under the sink. They hid from all the commotion. All the tortoises sheltered themselves and found sanctuary under the sink. The second adjoining room was filled with roughly 20 dogs and and pig. The room was the same size as the one previously mentioned. Dog beds covered in excretory waste and the room only smelled worst because of the heat in there. This whole room was cramped and again, all the animals lacked life in them. Please, don't be like me and fall for this place. I post this because someone needs to save them. Please help them. All the animals need to be living to their...
Read moresuper horrible place… i can’t believe i gave my money to them
my friends and i passed by and decided to go in because we thought it would be fun and we were wrong.
space was small and cramped, with dozens of cats and dogs shoved into the same space that is smaller than my bedroom. animals didn’t have enough beds and resting areas - the big dog struggled to lay on the tiny bed that it was provided with. all animals were sleepy as if they had been drugged and looked traumatised and sick of everyone. the animals were mostly friendly but i think they just didn’t have the energy to fight back. smaller children were also quite aggressive with animals and workers didn’t do anything about it.
the rabbit and guinea pig cages were tiny with no playing equipment, only some dried grass and a little wooden bowl to hide under. they seemed terrified too…
there was a monkey that was given a tree branch, a hammock and two empty food bowls and that was it. it looked so desperate and sad, super lonely with nothing to do in its enclosure. snakes and iguanas were also provided with barely anything in the enclosures. the maras and the capybaras were placed on linoleum floors, no grass and natural habitats were barely attempted to be replicated. they all looked so terrified and the capybara did nothing but stare at the wall and chew on nothing.
workers were pretty annoying as they kept calling over the animals as soon as you went over to pet them, especially the workers in the cat and dog area. animals looked either overfed or starved, and all of them looked super miserable and either slept or just followed the workers around hoping for food.
such a horrible place, my friends and i walked out unhappy that we gave our money to them. if u like animals then this is definitely not a...
Read moreI have such mixed feelings about this place. I’ve visited probably 4 times prior so this would be my 5th visit here. I had such fond memories of this place as I could see cute animals and they seemed to be well looked after. This visit was slightly different as there were no more kangaroos nor was there a tortoise and there was only 1 lonely capybara, which made me really sad thinking where the rest of them went. It felt like COVID must have really affected their business, with so many less animals living there. The workers I felt genuinely cared about the animals, especially in the cat and dog room. The staff in the capybara room encouraged us to purchase food for them. If there were too many visitors, the cats could at least escape to higher ground, where as the dogs were either lying there sleeping or chasing the other cats. I so wish to see this place do better in the future as I had loved this place so much!
If you visited the Kaiyuukan, you can also have a small discount of the entry fee but the entrance fee is very...
