After paying the admission fee and passing through the Niomon Gate, a long corridor begins. At first, the slope is gentle, but it gradually becomes steeper. It's like traveling back in time. By the way, there are 399 steps! It's super odd quantity! The higher you climb, the narrower the steps become. This means that the slope becomes steeper. By the time we arrived at the main hall, we were drenched in sweat...

Photography is not allowed in the main hall, so there are no photos, but the Standing statue of the Eleven-faced Kannon is worth seeing. As it is the largest wooden statue in Japan, it has an overwhelming presence, but perhaps because it is a statue of Kannon, it also has a mysterious gentleness that envelops me.

From the stage of the main hall, you can see the surrounding scenery. Although it is a mountain temple, it does not have an overwhelming sense of scale, but looking down, the breeze rising from the foot of the mountain feels pleasant. It relieves the fatigue of traveling. Access is not great, but the quiet atmosphere unique to mountain temples makes it...

#Hasedera #Temple is one of the most beautiful temples l have visited in Japan. lt is located on the mountain side and surounded by beautiful flowers, that is why also called the temple of flowers. The steps reminded me #Echizen Daibutsu in #Fukui. But they are not as much as it. Also not very steep, quite manageable. When you reach the top, you will see the wooden terrace with a beautiful view of valley and that reminded me #Kiyomizudera in #Kyoto. Since Nara was the earliest beginnings of Japanese Buddhism as the first capital, Hasedera Temple has a cery long history dated back A.D. 686. Main Hall of the Temple is a National Treasure of Japan, designated by the Japanese government as the most precious of Japan's Tangible Cultural Properties. There is a small museum where you can have a chance to see the eleven-headed statue of Kannon (the goddess of mercy) and you can pray by touching his foot. From architectural point of view, almost 10 meter tall wooden statue is one of the largest wooden...

Extremely beautiful I say it's must see. A lot of beautiful temples and cultural things here. There is a 10meter buddha that is amazing, almost of God's to wish goodluck for if your into that. I prayed for my teeth, legs, eyes, good fortune with money and girls. I saw few souvenirs. There is one of those traditional hand baths, I'm sorry I do not the name, here you should not drink from them. It is a little high being a water bottle or two unless you want to get something from the many vending machines. There are many shines and high views so it is a perfect excuse to take a picture with someone, "oh look at this view! Let's take a picture!" But probably in Japanese because if you are two Americans you probably already know each other, because we are in Japan. Please don't take pictures of the Buddhas it is very bad and disrespectful. I hear during the seasons there are many beautiful flowers. At night the lanterns light up and it is also very beautiful. Goodluck and...
