The Kumano Hongu Heritage Center, located just across the street from the Kumano Hongu shrine, was an absolute lifesaver on our trip. The staff, especially those who spoke English, were incredibly helpful. They provided us with all the necessary information and assistance, ensuring we could complete our pilgrimage route and get our certification just in time before they closed. The center itself is a treasure trove of knowledge, filled with fascinating history, detailed introductions to the route, and a great selection of books. It's also a wonderful place to relax, with plenty of seating. The convenience is unmatched, as you can easily catch a bus right outside the center.
