B&B Cafe Hongu — Restaurant in Tanabe

I thought the food here was excellent! The portions were generous, especially the curry, which was more than what most places typically serve. When I asked for extra rice, the owner kindly provided it free of charge—a small gesture that really stood out to me.

Curious about the one-star reviews, I looked into them and noticed many were tied to complaints about the owner’s attitude. However, it seems most of these negative experiences came from Japanese customers. While the owner’s neutral expression might be misunderstood as unfriendly, I found her actions to speak otherwise. We stayed at her hostel, and she went out of her way to provide snacks and bread, even though she wasn’t obligated to.

We stayed at B&B cafe Hongu initially for two nights, but then extended it for one more. The accommodation is clean and homely and is run by two of the most friendliest and knowledgeable people. The food is fresh and tasty and home made on the premises.
