However, it seems most of these negative experiences came from Japanese customers. While the owner’s neutral expression might be misunderstood as unfriendly, I found her actions to speak otherwise. We stayed at her hostel, and she went out of her way to provide snacks and bread, even though she wasn’t obligated to.
