As someone who appreciates both convenience and breathtaking views, I decided to take a ride on the Bizan Ropeway. Here’s my honest take:

Modern Cable Car Experience: The ropeway itself is a modern cable car, and I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent viewing opportunities. As we ascended, the city of Tokushima unfolded below us, and the mountains of Shikoku came into view. It’s a smooth ride, and the large windows allow you to soak in the panorama. Summit Serenity: At the summit, you’ll find a stupa—a serene Buddhist monument. The views from up there are truly captivating. Whether you visit during the day or at night (when the city lights twinkle like stars), it’s a memorable experience. Take your time to breathe in the fresh air and appreciate the beauty of Tokushima. Forest Trails: Just below the summit, there are some vague trails that wind through the forest. If you’re up for a short hike, explore these paths—they lead to hidden corners where you can immerse yourself in nature. I found it surprisingly peaceful and rejuvenating. Shabby Charm: Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: the ropeway and the amenities at the top have a certain shabby charm. It’s not polished or overly commercialized, but that’s part of its appeal. You feel like you’ve stumbled upon a local gem—a place loved by those who know its secrets. Timing Matters: The ropeway runs every 15 minutes, so you can customize your visit. Whether you want a quick glimpse or a leisurely stay, it’s up to you. Personally, I recommend taking your time—the views are worth savoring. In summary, Bizan Ropeway offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle. It’s not about luxury; it’s about connecting with nature and the cityscape. If you’re in Tokushima, hop on—it’s a journey you won’t regret. 🌸

Remember, everyone’s experience is unique, so go ahead and create your own memories at Bizan Ropeway. And hey, maybe you’ll discover a little magic of...

A quick 6 minute cablecar trip each way. There are two carts that leave in each direction every 15 minutes. When I visited in the late afternoon, there weren't that many people there. There were no long lines or big crowds in the cabins.

Once upstairs, there are a bunch of vending machines or you can get something in the café. The upstairs of the café also offers the same nice view, just a little bit above the tree tops.

The trees could do with a little bit of trimming, though. That, or they need to start building the platforms higher in the near future.

Technically, you can also reach this viewing platform by driving yourself via the road on the other side of the hill. It's not exclusive to the ropeway company. But it is a fun little activity while you're there, so...

The view from the top of this mountain is absolutely breathtaking. To see the city on one side and the mountains stretching out in the distance on the other is unlike anything else. Come here around the nightfall and treat yourself to the city of a million lights. I highly recommend this, even if you only have 1 evening to spend...
