My premier corner double room was great! Comfortable, well-appointed and pleasant with a terrific view of two rivers, city buildings, bridges, the Tokushima Castle hilltop site and park (where a dance festival took place on the Sunday) (there's also a museum there, and a beautiful Japanese garden), railway tracks nearby, and in the distance to the right, the sea. I enjoyed it very much. ||There was a very cool desk, with a transparent glass top decorated with a striped design. It had its own lamp, which together with the huge room lamp and two bedside lamps made for good lighting. The WiFi was effective. There were small bedside tables and elsewhere a large drawer and a smaller drawer, ample clothes hanging space, a two-seater lounge with a footstool and small table. TV, humidifier, trouser press, electric jug and best of all, a capsule coffee machine! An artwork above the bed. There was a choice of pillows, and PJs were provided. I slept well.||The bathroom had a nice deep bath, a decent amount of bench space, absorbent towels, a retractable clothes line, and lovely complimentary Provinscia toiletries. ||It was a bit of a squeeze fitting my large wheeled suitcase in, but manageable.||The hotel is in an ideal location more or less right beside the JR Station and the bus hub, with many shops and eateries in the vicinity. The castle park and closer river are about a 7 minute walk, and it's around 15 minutes in the other direction to the Awa Odori Kaikan (museum about the Awa Odori traditional dance) which also houses the Bizan Ropeway station on its top floor. Wonderful views from the observatory on Mt Bizan!||The breakfasts were very good, and the hotel staff were helpful and efficient. I hope to stay for longer than two nights sometime...

The Hotel Clement is located in the centre of town above the train station. There is a bus from the airport to the train station so the hotel is to get to from the airport. Due to the central location it is in walking distance of the main downtown stores and the ropeway up Mount Bizan. It can also serve as a base for the first handful of temples on the Shikoku Henro.||Service at the hotel was outstanding. We needed to ship some articles to the hotel ahead of our stay and they were available upon arrival. An additional needs for the room were quickly provided.||The buffet breakfast was exceptional and an opportunity to try out some of the dishes which Shikoku is famous for ||I would recommend a room on a higher floor for the view and to get a bit away from the street noise.
