The campus can be quite pretty, especially in the spring. There are a lot of interesting buildings and side roads, and even people who are not associated with the university are allowed to walk through it.
Facilities are generally not well maintained, but at least somewhat clean. There are two formal cafeterias and 1-2 food trucks in the main area of campus. Lunch sets are also sold at the further parts of the campus (only around noon), which is nice.
Quality of classes seems to be, for the most part, far below that of similarly-famous institutions in other countries. It seems there is a big focus on learning things without direction (i.e., on your own) - many classes tend to be a formality with little work.
In terms of operational safety: in my experience, there are many situations (laboratory workspaces, machine rooms, experiments) where safety takes last place - an environment with outdated or uninformed rules around safety is an unsafe environment.
International student help is limited, but at least many of the staff responsible for them are clearly passionate about bridging the gap and helping you make the most out of your experience.
