Sato Memorial Museum of Art — Attraction in Toyama

富山の実業家である佐藤助九郎氏が収蔵していた美術品の多くが展示されている美術館。富山城址公園内にあり、どっしりと構えた佇まいであるが決して主張しすぎることなく、誰もが気軽に利用することが出来る。展示室は、単に周回するだけでは1時間程度の広さであるが、茶道具、古陶磁、日本画等がテーマごとに展示され、その展示方法はシンプルで無駄が無い。大人は210円で高校生以下は無料で利用できる。展示されてる作品の説明のほとんどが日本語のみであるため、海外からの観光客が利用するにあたっては注意が必要である。 2階には、佐藤家より移築された茶室が展示されている。これらはあくまで廊下から見るだけに留まるため、中に入ることは出来ない。

This is an art museum where many of the art works collected by Sukekuro Sato, a businessman in Toyama, are exhibited. The museum is located in Toyama Castle Ruins Park, and although it has a stately appearance, it is not too imposing and can be easily accessed by anyone. The exhibition room is large enough to spend about an hour just going around, but tea ceremony utensils, old ceramics, Japanese paintings, etc. are displayed according to themes, and the exhibition method is simple and lean. Adults pay 210 yen, and high school students and younger can use the museum for free. Most of the explanations of the works on display are in Japanese only, so tourists from overseas should be careful when visiting the museum. 於1961年9月開館，當時名為“佐藤美術館（基金會）”，由已故的富山縣砺波市的實業家兼茶人的「佐藤助九郎」為核心，1963年更名為富山美術館。 1991～1993年，為紀念建館30週年進行了擴建工程，並於1998年4月更名為富山佐藤美術館（基金會）

館內除展覽室外，還移築了佐藤家的兩間茶室「助庵」、「柳汀庵」，以及一間完全由檜木製成的書院座敷建築。同年4月，建築和所有藏品被捐贈給富山市，與富山市郷土博物館共同運作。
