I had a really great experience here. As others mentioned, there is a limit of how many people can do it per day. I arrived 30-40 mins before opening and there were already about 3 groups in front of me. Eventually, the staff member comes before opening to give everyone a number. I was in and out by 11 but my design was simple. Although he did not speak English (which is understandable, it is my fault for not speaking Japanese), the staff member tried his best to explain to me and it was simple and I had no problems. Read moreThis is a wonderful and very cool museum, we made a special trip down to Wakayama mostly so we could visit this museum and we are so glad we did! The staff are incredibly friendly, the exhibits are fascinating, and the bicycle-powered knitting machine activity was so much fun. Plus we get a unique, custom souvenir to take home. The museum itself is free and the knitting activity only costs a few hundred yen to cover the costs of materials and maintenance.
