JR「横手駅」から徒歩10分程です。横手市役所に併設されています。

横手かまくらまつりで有名なかまくらがいつでも見れて写真が撮れる施設です。体験は100円が必要です。尚、四館共通チケット：かまくら館、横手公園展望台（横手城）、石坂洋次郎文学記念館、後三年の合戦金沢資料館の四館とも1回のチケットを買えば全部入れます）

入口で、防寒着の「どんぶく」(わた入れとｋは、半纏(はんてん)とか、どてらのようなもの）着て、マイナス10℃の冷凍庫のような中にはいるとかまくらがあり、そこで写真が撮れます！以上です。

体験自体は、その他映像やちょっとした展示だけとなりますが、館内には、横手市の名物/名産品や、お土産等が入手できます。ババヘラアイス（製品）などもあります。市内では一番品ぞろえが豊富だと思いますので、是非立ち寄ってみるとよいと思います。（とはいえ、そんなに大きくはない）
