Atmosphere is very cozy, the “French Rivera seaside restaurant” thing is obviously going on in here.
Right after we were sat, the waiter announced that we would be having a pork course, which is incorrect given how we reserved the fish one. So we had to explain it to the waiter all over again. A small nuisance but a nuisance still. We had an olive oil and salt on plate prepared for us, but we had to ask for bread ourselves, and they brought it only after we got our first plate of asparagus salad, which was decent by the way. Same goes for water, you had to ask every time for a waiter to refill it.
A second plate: zucchini with a frozen ricotta cheese was okay, but I think there was too much of a jelly sauce.
Third plate: baby corn and a butter potato purée. Good. No complaints here.
Fourth plate: fish with lettuce and cabbage leaves. An okay one.
Main: tempura fish. Was undercooked. Didn’t like it.
Dessert: crème brûlée. Also an okay one.
Overall, nice atmosphere, an okay food, but very slow and...
Read moreAn elegant French restaurant by the sea in Hayama. (accessible by bus from Zushi station, on foot it's about 35 minutes) The location is beautiful; from the terrace you can see the sun set by Mt. Fuji. The food is delicious! And the staff is so friendly. I don't eat sea food, so they were very accommodating and made replacements in various courses. The Hayama beef was amazing. As an Argentinian, I'm not easily impressed by beef, but this was awesome. It melted in my mouth like butter. The dessert was delicious, I especially recommend the matcha opera cake-- it's new. I also recommend the mint tea; they grow the mint themselves. They also have a bakery and sell various cakes and pastries. You can buy them at the restaurant and take them home on your way out, or you can buy them at their bakery by...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant serving french style cuisine on the second floor. The La Marée course took about 2.5 hours to finish and was incredible. I believe it might change but if you get a chance to have the anago with white liver eggplant chocolate and mint then you are lucky because that was mind blowingly gl delicious. The staff were very attentive but you could take your time to fully enjoy each dish. Beautiful view, especially during the sunset. Definitely make a reservation online and if you tell them that you're driving then they have a parking stall ready for you right across the street. I really want to try the cafe below soon and will definitely be...
