Souk Jara, also known as the Jara Market, is a vibrant open-air market located at the end of Rainbow Street in Jabal Amman, Jordan. Operating exclusively on Fridays during the summer season (from the start of summer until the first Friday in September), Souk Jara offers a delightful experience for visitors.

As you explore the market, you’ll find an array of handmade and locally produced goods. The stalls showcase everything from handmade jewelry and embroidered items to colorful pottery, paintings, and clothing. Food enthusiasts will appreciate the selection of local foods, including jams, spices, and oils. Additionally, antiques, spices, and oils add to the market’s diverse offerings.

Whether you’re looking for a special souvenir or simply want to immerse yourself in local culture, Souk Jara is a must-visit spot in Amman. Enjoy exploring the vibrant stalls and discovering the talents of Jordanian...

Great experience and nice products We bought creams, soaps and paintings directly from Artists and cherry on the top was the refreshing smoothie at end where all the food stands are. High recommendation for Mariam stand, they have nice products and my wife is planning to go back and get some more. also another stand when you enter the market on your right side that sells creams, we found natural eczema cream which seems to work fine so I guess will go again. I went on Friday morning with the family and it was not crowded, just make sure you have some change as things are reasonably priced and you don't always find change for 50JDs in the morning many places have credit card machine, but I prefer to pay in cash in such places to support the local businesses and avoid unnecessary banks deductions on cards. I hope you enjoy your time and products the same way I enjoyed it...

Great little covered market that’s open on Fridays. A lot of people, and very narrow walkway. Be prepared to walk slowly behind lots of people. Lots of local artists selling everything from paintings to books to decorative kitchenware. Prices are considerably higher than elsewhere however that being said still not unreasonable. Food section present for some snacks and fruit drinks.

Getting out at night is a nightmare. Traffic is crazy and cars are at a standstill. Had to walk for 20 minutes to find...

Small, but very enjoyable, street market. Jara stands for Jebel Amman Residents' Association, and the market was created to add to the Bohemian atmosphere of this rather affluent area just off Rainbow Street. There are stalls selling art works and crafts as well as the usual over-priced antiques. There's a "food court" down at the bottom end where you can buy fast foods and drinks. Very well worth a visit. Open only during the warmer months (i.e. most of the year, but closed in the very cold winter period.)
