So we went as I had read about the place on a blog, to start with the service wasn't great but not the worst I've experienced. The coffee was mid range in terms of quality however the issue came at the end. Even though the bottled water that is put on your table wasn't opened it was placed on our bill. I gave the waiter the money saying that we wanted the money taken off for the water that we didn't want. He disappeared and then didn't return. I allowed more than good time before asking another waiter to go inside and get the change. After another 5 mins I asked another yet another waiter and finally the change arrived half chucked on the table in the boxes they used. The money was short and the receipt had been removed so as to hide how much the items had cost and so how much change you should receive. Read moreRakwet Arab has a special place in my heart and whenever I get back there, I feel nostalgia as my first job ever was in Jabal Al-Weibdeh (Terra Santa College). I have tried many appetizers & main dishes over there. The last time I tried Mana’eesh za’atar with cheese, labaneh topped with nuts, ottomans’ halloumi cheese (if I am not mistaken with the name/ it was special), a mixed platter of veggies, tea with mint & Turkish coffee. The only downside that it is a bit overpriced regarding some stuff. However, whether you want to smoke shishah, enjoy a drink, or some food, or altogether then you need to give Rakwet...
Read moreWent there based on Lonely Planet recommendation hoping for a highlight after a week of fantastic food across Jordan. The two of us ordered mostly based on the waiter's recommendations. The pomelo salad was essentially just ice berg salad drenched in french dressing with a few slices of pomelo, some mushrooms and a couple of lost pomegranate seeds. The clay pot lamb consisted of overcooked beef. The chicken sajieh was cold and dried out and the haloumi osmani was also cold and flavourless. The restaurant had charm and despite the bad food at high prices it didn't feel like a tourist trap. There were many locals in the restaurant but, as we noticed when leaving, none of them...
