Wasons Cottages — Attraction in Shanzu ward

I recently spent a week at Wason's Cottages during a wedding between the 17th and 22nd of February 2019 and was astonished to find that after informing them months before we arrived as well as right before we arrived, the rooms were a total mess. Most rooms had not been cleaned, bugs were crawling everywhere and the worst part, in a place with a humidity of 67% and temperatures of 33 degrees, the air conditioning units were not checked and kept failing. We had to move guests from room to room where even then the A.C's were not checked and failed. Guests from abroad slept for nights with no A.C and could barely sleep. The pool was not cleaned and we had to keep on calling them over and over to fix it. The One star I have given them is because of the proximity to the beach as well as that the beach is quite nice. The rooms on the other hand, in spite of paying for all cottages for nearly a week and a half, they did not clean or prepare those rooms for all those guests, many of which flew from the United Kingdom. Wasons is close to Nyali so you don't need to go far for a nice beach holiday. There's plenty of dedicated parking as well. Booked the Seaview cottage with family. Prices are reasonable considering the space and views. However, cottage is in dire need of maintenance. Everything was working but at the point of breaking. We did have WiFi but again, we struggled with the signal and the quality was terrible. There's an option of ordering food or having a chef prepare food which we didn't use. The swimming pool was cleaned and treated daily. There's no shower or tap by the beach gate so if heading straight to the cottage from beach, we had to get water from inside to wash sand. Nice place for family vacation. Though the owner seems to neglect the house cleanliness cause I found the terrazzo floor really dirty that you can't walk bare feet inside the house without your feet changing to black colour. Cobwebs on the balcony floor. The swimming pool is also neglected the photos posted are old photos of when the pool was crystal clear, now it's not clear it's abit milky color. Also the air conditioner is noisy meaning not been serviced or old. Otherwise the setting of the cottage is just perfect the location the serenity the staff is really helpful especially Paul and Titus. Thumbs up to Paul for going out of his ways to keep us happy.
