Ruckas muiža — Attraction in Cēsis

Maybe it is better during the busy season. It has so much possibility and I really wanted to like it, but it was my least favorite place I've stayed in a while. The restaurant was nice and good pizza, but at 5pm they were already out of the first 2 dishes I tried to order and service was very slow - the staff were nice but they literally never came to check on me unless I called them over.

The room was fine but some small things would make it better. First, use an extension cord so I can plug in my phone without having to climb behind the bed. Second, make a way to hang the shower sprayers so I can hang it during the shower if I want without spraying water all over the bathroom. Third, with the restaurant only open noon-8pm, have a few items available for snacks in the late night or morning - if you don't want to provide them in the room charge, put them in a basket and ask people to pay for what they take; I think most people would be honest.

Also, more information on the mill please. I never saw it or was told anything about it by staff.

Skumjā pieredze 29.08. Ierodos atvedusi mammu uz skaisto vietu, kur ieturēt maltīti. Ienākot iekšā ar mums neviens nesasveicinās, tumšmate oficiante uz atbildi vai ara ir vieta, kur piesēst, neko nezinot, mums jāiet pašam skatīties, izejam ārā, stāv pliks galds bez krēsla, vaicājām viesmīlei vai ir iespēja palūgt no cita galda tukšos krēslus uz ko viņa atbildēja - nezinu 🤣 Tad mums pašām bija jāiet lūgt viesmīlēm krēsli, beidzot vietu esam pašas sev sagatavojušas, oficiante mūsu pasūtījumu pieņēma pēc 20 minūtēm, tikmēr ēdienkarte jau bija iestudēta no galvas, kaut gan vairākas reizes abas dāmas staigāja garām nesteidzīgi un nepievērsa mums pat uzmanību, blakus esošie tukšie galdi stāvēja nenovākti, pārējiem viesi nācās sēdēt pie nenovāktiem galdiem. Ar to mūsu stāsts nebeidzas, atnes dzerienus pēc apkalpošanas tik pēc 15 minūtēm, mums kā īstām latvietēm alus garša zināma, alus (Valmiermuiža) bija pilnīgi ūdeņains, pieklājīgi devos apvaicāties vai tādai garšai jābūt uz ko tumšmatainās bārmene man pārmetošā tonī saka, muca svaiga nomainīta, tam tā jābūt, man bija jālūdz pagaršot viņai šo alu, jo tas bija briesmīgs uz ko viņa man atbild- nedzeru alu, labi, ka kāda sieviete, laikam kafejnīcas vadītāja, meitenei norādīja, lai ielej mums citu glāzi un vienu testu viņai un alus tiešām garšo savādi arī pēc viņas teiktā. Palūdzu, lai iedod mums alu no pudeles, jo viņai pašai vispār nebija skaidrs, ka mēs šo dzerienu atpakaļ neņemsim. Rezultātā pēc kopumā pavadītas 1h 15min mēs tiekam pie savas garšīgās salami picas. Devāmies apmaksāt pie kases, kur tumšmatainā oficiante mums ir pieskaitījusi abus alus, to, kurš bija nedzerams un otru, pilnīgs absurds, juceklis, haos un neprofesionāla apkalpošana tik skaists vietā. Noteikti neiesaku nākt pazaudēt savu garstavokli. Ar steigu jāmaina personāls, ja nevēlaties pazaudēt pusi no Cēsu klientiem un radīt neslavu arī citiem...

This is a lovely gem in Cēsis- very nice atmosphere and the pizzas are delicious! Although I was expecting a little bit more of the prawn pizza for 15 euros (it had 5 little pieces on the top). The place has to work on the timely food preparation - we waited for an hour to get the first pizza, and the other one came in another 20 min!
