One of the hills with the best view in Kk
And the best part is that it is very easy. But best view so it brings the best value in time
If you are considering the hills in KK (bukit padang, bukit kopungit, signal hill)
Bukit padang is most challenging but rank last in view among the three Signal hill is easy and you get a city view
But bukit kopungit you can see gunung kinabalu on the right and the ocean on the left
Theres a high rock that you can climb to take instagram photos and have a clear view of gunung kinabalu
The track is plenty but direction is bad DO NOT GO TO THE BC british house. There is a direction passing through the jungle and there is mark to make sure you dont lose your way but at one point the track ends
There is 2 japanese cave but i couldnt find them. Theres a tower area and u can sit at the edge to see a beautiful view of the mountains
Overall a solid 5/5. Beginners can take the easy trail up straight for 10 minutes and can see the magnificent view of both worlds
Experience and people looking for challenge like me can explore the entire hill and pass through all the trails and track. I did it 1 hour to explore the entire hill and sat down and rest at the top of the rock with the most beautiful view of mount kinabalu, highest mountain in south east asia
Parking is easy as well as it is next to the road. Make sure to lock the door!
There are some parts that are steep and slippery. Would recommend hiking shoes and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had never tried hiking before, so I didnāt have any expectations. I went in the afternoon, hoping to catch the sunset. I honestly thought Iād be exhaustedābut surprisingly, it was an easy hike. Even kids could make it to the top.
I took a Grab to the starting point and began the climb. It took me less than an hour to reach the summit. There are a few slopes that could be slippery when wet, so I wouldnāt recommend going if itās raining.
I couldāve just gone back down right after, but I ended up exploring different routes and stayed for about two hours. There were a lot of locals hikingāsome with friends, others with family. It seems like a popular spot for both morning and evening exercise.
I had a hard time locating the Japanese cave, only to find it wasnāt well maintained. Still, the overall experience was great. The view at the top isnāt exactly breathtaking, but thereās something refreshing about being up there.
Overall, Iād recommend this place if youāre looking for a light hike or a casual workout in the morning or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA good and convenient training ground or just for exercising to keep fit especially for those who stay or working nearby. I used to drop by here if it is not raining, to keep myself fit and healthy and also to pass the time to avoid the peak hour traffic jam. The trails are good for cardiopulmonary training and muscles conditioning to prepare for climbing higher mountains like Mt Kinabalu or other tougher hill treks. My team members and me used to train ourselves or refreshing our rope and climbing skills on the cliffs here before we go mountaineering locally or going for big mountains in the Himalaya or other countries. There are new trails opened by volunteers recently and one is leading to the bigger 'gua Jepun' (Japanese WW2 cave). Check...
