While the sup ikan was passable, I must admit the seafood essence in this supposedly seafood-centric restaurant was somewhat lacking. The fish, though not spoiled, didn't quite live up to the freshness expected. Additionally, the bitter gourd soup base left much to be desired, as it lacked the depth and flavor complexity that could have elevated the dish.
However, a saving grace was found in the delicious fish tofu. Its savory and slightly salty taste made it a delightful accompaniment to any meal, showcasing a more satisfying flavor profile compared to the fish soup noodle.
The real star at this establishment, though, was the Kam Hiong dishes. Their aromatic appeal was captivating, striking a perfect balance between fragrance and spice without overpowering the palate. These dishes, when paired with any meat, created an unforgettable harmony of flavors, making it so enjoyable that even two plates of rice seemed insufficient to fully relish their deliciousness.
Despite the mixed experience with the main dishes, the reasonable pricing at this eatery adds a commendable aspect to the overall dining experience. While some dishes may fall short, the affordability certainly makes it an attractive option for those seeking a decent meal without...
Read moreCame here for dinner, love it because it is not crowded, you can dine in or order in advance and collect your food. The food was good and flavorful. The ingredients were fresh. Individual dishes start from size S, M or L. Pricing range from RM 20 and above for small portion. Each small portion is probably good for a minimum of 3 people. They also have rice dishes. I especially enjoyed the sweet and sour sliced fish dish, but all other dishes we had we're good too.
Edit Sept 2022. Came here many times since our 1st discovery 6 mths prior, tonight brought a guest from out of town, and maybe we came too late at 830pm, captain/owner also too tired from the day, while ordering, we tiba2 kena scold , maybe we didn't order fast enough and then before we moved on to the next selection, quickly gave us a suggestion that also didn't seem appealing. I see how he greet leaving guests with a jovial thank you and goodbye, and after that unexpected experience, we didn't get the same treatment even as we are sitting right under his nose... maybe we agitated him or we don't speak chinese. Maybe, we were invisible or he is not aware we are actually regulars. Maybe. Good food, not so cheap, we can surely pay, but erm. Maybe we can consider other...
Read moreNon-Regulars beware. So I read a lot of the comments here saying that this is one of their go to restaurants. Others claimed that this is a great place to dine in. Mine was a DISAPPOINTMENT. They probably prioritize regular customers. It was the first time I went there and probably never again. The fish was not fresh and had a funky smell on it, only to be covered by salty light soy sauce. They probably thought that it couldn't be noticed. But we all (customers) will know bad food when we eat one. Probably unlucky since we're not regulars.
Mixed vegetables is okay Butter prawn was cooked nicely but the prawn was not fresh enough.
Mind that this restaurant has tanks to store live water stocks. But the food served was not fresh then the most logical explanation is that they had been wanted to get rid of old fish behind the kitchen so that none is wasted. So yeah, non...
