Hi, I’m a regular fan of your escape rooms and have played more than 5–6 different themes before — always had great experiences. But I recently played “Midnight in the Museum” at your Eco Galleria branch and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. Within the first 5 minutes, the Game Master started giving us direct instructions without us asking for any hints. It really spoiled the fun of solving the puzzles ourselves. One of the doors opened on its own after we solved an earlier puzzle. We walked in naturally, but only then were told we weren’t supposed to yet. I understand things can malfunction, so we continued but its really affect our game experience inside. For one puzzle, we found the key already inserted in the lock — which we were actually supposed to find after solving another puzzle. When we asked the Game Master, he admitted he forgot to remove it. It made us skip a whole step, which really affected the experience. In the final room, we were suddenly told we only had 2 minutes left — with no earlier time reminder like usual (10-15min before) — and then were given the answers right away, without a chance to try ourselves.
After the game, no explanation was given about the key issue. We were just rushed to take our things and leave, only to find out later the branch was closing. It felt like the whole session was rushed and not handled properly.
The only highlight was the NPCs — they stayed in character and really enhanced the mood. Big thumbs up to him!
Honestly, this was especially disappointing considering it’s your most expensive room (RM138/pax). We were really looking forward to it, but came out feeling like it wasn’t worth it. Its really...
Read moreFREAKING AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! I played this with my friends (3 of us) and we chose the "No Entry" room.... and guess what? We actually completed all the tasks (with a little help from the staff too haha). The puzzles were super intriguing and quite challenging, which made the game even more exciting. We absolutely LOVED it!
The live actor? OH. MY. GOD. Legit terrifying!! They were so into character that it felt way too real. Total chills. The jumpscare was INSANE. Definitely the kind that makes your soul leave your body for a second. And don’t even get me started on that red light… we HATED it because we knew it meant something bad was coming. I guess the staff enjoyed watching our reaction when the red light came on. Hahaha.
But here's a small thing we hope can be improved... please double-check the props in the room. My friends and I got a few scratches and bruises, mostly because we were kinda reckless :v ... but also, some items had sharp edges, especially the corner of the bed frame. That one really hurt. Please consider covering it with sponge or padding.
That said, we still really enjoyed every minute of it!
Massive shoutout to the live actor! your voice, expressions, and character were TOP TIER 👏👏👏 And the staff? Super friendly, helpful, and gave really clear instructions. Service was excellent from start to finish!
To the pretty kakak at the end... we’re so sorry we accidentally bumped into you!! We didn’t mean to .
Read moreThis is my 5th time playing a Lost in JB room, so suffice to say I’m a big fan of the company.
This time I played the Money Heist room, and though I did not watch the series it is based on, the atmosphere and theme was immersive.
There were a few hiccups however - for one, there were a couple of times we did not realise we have solved a puzzle because the automatic mechanism did not activate, costing us precious time. We were even told to manually force open one of the boxes.
Two, there were a lot of loud noises coming from the next room, be it screams or banging or etc, which were distracting broke the immersion pretty hard. There was an instance where I had to cover my ears.
Three, verbal instructions given during the run were hard to understand, be it from the live actor (likely because he was muffled behind a mask) or from the walkie-talkie. My party were full English speakers and yet we were struggling to listen.
Four, as many reviewers have said, there is a particular puzzle that is difficult to execute properly. I can’t say much without spoiling - basically the equipment given was difficult to operate and not intuitive.
Which is a shame because I felt the puzzles were...
