Sushi Plus (Eco Botanic) — Restaurant in Iskandar Puteri

What a shame. This place used to be great. But the last two visits I’ve had to leave without ordering because most of the a la carte items have been unavailable, and the cabinet of pre-prepared sushi has been almost empty.

I thought it was a “peak hour” problem, but today I visited 15min after opening, and the cabinet was — I’m not kidding — 95% empty again.

Just for my curiosity I tried to speak (politely) with the staff about this, but they all seemed completely disengaged, disinterested, and unapologetic.

I really hope this place can return to its former standards.

It can be a bit hit and miss. I was blown away by the tamago and inari topped sushi, and the grilled salmon and prawn were fantastic as well. Unfortunately, the roe was only so-so. I think the quality will depend on who's behind the counter but I can tell the menu was thoughfully crafted and each item beautifully made. I'm already planning my next trip back as this time I only tried the lower priced products. The higher prices gave me pause, but they don't hold back on the ingredients, and the sushi chefs take great care to make them. They honestly look delicious. Air conditioned, clean and quiet. We were there dinner on Saturday night. Despite the late hour, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, and we were able to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed.

While the portion sizes were generous, especially with the party plate, the service could have been a bit more attentive.
