No words. Not my first visit to Cocodry as I had tried their treatments at their Publika branch. My other experience was enjoyable, and I was looking forward to visiting Cocodry more often. I decided to book a blow-dry service at the Bangsar branch, and I left feeling disappointed. To start, the staff was unnecessarily rough with my hair, during the drying process I could feel strands of my hair being pulled out. Instead of drying my hair, I felt like my scalp was being burnt (not sure if the stylist is inexperienced or too occupied). I don't know what exactly went wrong since I just wanted a blowout, no complicated styles/braids/updos. I can also see that they're quite understaffed since they're running about trying to cope with the influx of clients. I understand, however, I would appreciate my head not being the receiving end of their stress. I told myself just to ignore it since I had somewhere to be and I figured the look would make up for the uncomfortable experience. Unfortunately, I left the salon with very dry and flat hair. I did not get a dry styling service, meaning my hair was wet prior to styling and it should at least assist in the styling process. I seriously feel like I could get a better wash and blow at a basic salon. Furthermore, after paying I realised their staff had charged me an additional RM10 since my hair was long. I have no issues with extra charges, though I think it would be fair to at least let me know. So, not only did I leave with a look I wasn't satisfied with and an uncomfortable experience, I was also charged extra without being notified. I never thought Cocodry could disappoint in such a way. It's good to see that another branch is being opened at Platinum Park, however, kindly maintain the standards at other outlets to ensure customer...
Read moreI started coming to Cocodry Bangsar since its inception, bought 1-2 packages as I loved the customer service, products and also quality of their services. My last visit before yesterday was probably sometime in Nov last year. Yesterday I had booked an appt via Fresha, clicked on "Anyone" for maximum availability. I was there at *12noon, appt was at 1205pm) When I got there, I received Fern, who when she asked what style I wanted I went to my usual half single braid do. And then someone for the counter said that no braiding or buns can be done. And Fern echoed that saying that she has "back to back" customers and there was no time for anything else except for the usual curls and "theres extra charge and time for what I wanted" I tried to tell her/ them that this has been my usual selection, and I KNOW that theres extra charge. But 3 of them decided to all say that it cant be done. After my hairwash, I told Fern to just select whatever style that SHE thought was most convenient for HER as she was the one who is in a hurry. One of the ladies at the counter told Fern that there is time since its just a single braid. And I honestly was a bit cheesed off because just 15 mins ago everyone INSISTED that was no time, and Fern then repeated to me what was said that now it can be done. I was too annoyed because I felt like I was bullied into accepting a style which I didnt even want and then later on being told that it actually can be done. Never mind there was only 1 other customer by the time I finished my wash, and many other stylist hanging about outside and inside the shop. Rest assured yesterday will be the last time I step into...
Read moreFinally, after all these years searching for a good salon, I'm so glad with what Cocodry delivers!! It was my first time and I booked "The Hustler" package. I'll try to breakdown the experience:
First impression: Very welcoming ambience (the colour of the premise, the lighting) with fine-smell (No strong chemical scent)
Staff: Very warm and helpful (PLUSPOINT: Does not upsell / pressure customers to purchase products)
Room for hijabi sisters: It is good but I wish the washing area is separated for customers with hijab (Maybe just put a wooden partition?)
Products used: The hairstylist did a thorough scan of my scalp, did some basic explanation on my scalp type and how to tackle some scalp issues. Important step to determine the type of shampoo suitable for you. Also, she recommended me to use hair tonic (Nature's brand) or any other type in the market.
Service: Scalp massage during hair wash was GOOD, probably would try the Tai-Tai package (massage time is longer). Did the mermaid wave style but that was just okay, mind you that my hair is short so i kinda expected the result.
*also it would be great if they can add hair cut services, it is so hard to find Muslim-friendly salons around Bangsar.
Things to improve: A wash section for hijabi customers Add hair cut service Improve the way staff massage the scalp (like I said, it was GOOD, but it could be BETTER)
Overall, i would definitely book other packages with COCOdry in the...
