My friend who is a Managing Editor of a leading daily, recommended me and my family to lunch at Riksha Bangsar. The experience of waiting was very painful but we could hold. Totally understand as the restaurant was busy. We managed to get our food almost after 45 mins of wait. The food was not bad. The highlight of the lunch was an extremely nervous and impolite person who claims to be managing the outlet. I went up to him ( after our meal) and asked if I could provide a simple feedback, while I was preparing to pay. When the outlet is busy, offer them some papadams as that will keep them calm and comfortable. I also told him when I made a request from a staff, she rudely responded saying" we will serve papadams when we serve you the meal " who was totally missing the point. I did ask the manager if I could give him this as a feedback. He was not looking at me or even seeing me but was looking into his teller and on the air. I reminded him to look at me, when am talking and also taking the trouble to give him a feedback. He said No we are Busy and you can pay and leave. I did ask him the second time if he cares for my feedback...he was rude not showing any remorse or interest nor respect and sadly I shall never return to this rude, insensitive and totally disrespectful outlet. Though I do appreciate the efforts put in by one staff who was very kind, attentive and who did apologise profusely for this rude experience. I must admit, this mistake by the manager is totally unacceptable and unbearable. Lesson learnt: listen to your customer Lesson two: be attentive to customer needs and expectations Lesson three: unless it's free, you have no right to be rude Lesson four: we did not ask for a discount, we paid the full some.... costs was...

Read moreThe service, staff politeness and hospitality was excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful and passionate about the freshness of their ingredients and dishes.
We started our lunch by drinking the mango lassi which is one of the best lassi's I have had in a good while!
The chicken 65 briyani arrived along with the prawn ghee roast, calamari pakora and the banana leaf accompanied by 4 vegetables and condiments. 4 out of the 5 vegetables (potato, radish, eggplant and fried bittergourd) were tasty and on point. The Prawn Ghee Roast was fresh and well cooked (not overcooked) but lacked overall flavour. It didnt feel special and was nothing to rave about.
The chicken 65 briyani had a good portion of fried marinated chicken but unfortunately lacked flavour and spice. The calamari pakora was the most disappointing dish as there were more onions present than the squid (60/70% onions and only 30% squid). The squid was also overcooked but at least it was fresh.
Overall: 5/10 rating. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and the cozy, warm environment was the highlight of my lunch experience at Ricksha Bangsar. For the amount of food ordered, the bill came up to RM 160+ for 2 people and in my opinion, it was not worth it as there are other banana leaf places with more flavourful food and fairer prices. I do hope that Ricksha Bangsar improve on the flavour of their chicken 65 briyani and prawn ghee roast and I hope they start serving more fried (not overcooked) squid in their Calamari Pakora dish instead of it comprising of 60 - 70% with...
