There are some interesting pieces and services that I was curious about for my family's collection. However, Henry’s approach felt intrusive rather than friendly.

Henry remained seated and fully obscured by furniture while greeting and speaking to us. After asking our names, he immediately followed with questions about our occupations, places of work, professional connections, and how many years since I've completed university. When I gave polite but vague answers to protect my privacy, he responded by sticking out his tongue and rolling his eyes. He also suggested, without prompt, that my gentleman companion purchase diamond jewelry for me, which I tried not to take the wrong way. As I was leaving, Henry sent his staff after me to hand me his (Henry's) business card. I accepted it out of thanks to his polite staff.

While the items are acceptable and his staff are polite, Henry could benefit from respecting his customers’ right to discretion. It is unprofessional to expect potential clients to present their CV to a stranger before conducting business. We would have loved to build rapport through learning about and discussing your pieces instead.

What a find! We spent an hour wandering the store, marvelling at a wonderful array of Malay art and antiques.
