We've been to Yeast Bistronomy many times over, not just in Bangsar, (though it's still our favorite outlet in our humble opinion), the others in Mid Valley and TTDI (which is actually closer to where we live) are equally great! Ever since coming back from France, I've this deep love for almost anything french. Food especially. So, when we found this place, it's very close to heart. Great food, wonderful atmosphere. It gives you a bit of the French vibes. I personally love their little outdoor sitting. It feels as if being transported back to France. My personal recommendation: Escargots if you're up for it. My favorite is of course their butter croissant, 🥐, paired with a latte☕, Pain Au Chocolat, or the soft boil eggs with toast & butter. Confit de Canard which is crispy duct confit. Steak tartare and Verrine de Foie Gras. For dinner, my pick would be Oven Baked Barramundi, or a creamy linguine dish. Also, highly recommended is their fresh breads, tarts and yummy pastries!! They do sell like hot-cakes. By late evening, or sometimes even afternoon, they might run out of certain breads and pastries.
In their own words: Established in 2012, Yeast Boulangerie - Bistro in Bangsar was a “first of its kind” to land on the Kuala Lumpur dining scene.
Located on Jalan Telawi 2 in a shop house, our little bistro with an intimate outdoor patio, serves a proper Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu following the French Tradition.
At the Boutique, you will find the finest breads, pastries, tarts and much more to take away, and if you decide to join us at any time of the day, you will be transported to Paris with our food and typical bistro feel.
Over the past few years since Yeast opened, it has built its reputation on the quality of its food, service, and sophisticated ambiance.
A “must” to experience in Bangsar, Kuala...
Read moreHeyyyy Solarance again, I think I accidentally reviewed my opinion about the place with a wrong account so I’ll place it here 😂 on this day, I went out on a nice friend day out with my bestie Ms C ❤️
1- as I mentioned, my dish is the barramundi 🐟 with a side of ratatouille and it was good 👍🏻 the saltiness of the nuts combined with the fish and the slightly sweet ratatouille sauce made the dish quite delicious. The only downside is that I kinda wish the portion is more.. but I understand fish isn’t cheap hence the pricing of RM 45+ ish. It’s just enough for one person so don’t go sharing or you might not get full. Unless if you’re a small eater of course haha. I’d rate this dish 4/5
2- my bestie ordered the seafood pasta… and it looked very vibrant and tasty.. based on her comments, she says it tasted ok, good flavouring 👍🏻 the downside is that the prawn was over cooked so it was chewy. If it weren’t for the prawn, she would’ve rated 5. Her dish is slightly more expensive than mine…. About RM 50+. Based on her responses on the dish (sadly I forgot to ask her how she would rate it) I would rate it 3/5 because of the prawn. Improve it please as no one wants to eat over cooked prawns 🍤
3- the look of the shop, is very classy 👍🏻 a bit stuffy but classy. Kinda dark a bit too maybe improve with some lighting? The mean I’m no interior designer but a bit of light may help a but to make the restaurant more vibrant and welcoming. Overall I’d rate this 3.5/5.
4- parking is hell btw, so if you wanna go here, you will need to really try your best. Even the mall nearby, the parking is hard to get. Unless if ur willing to spend extra money for valet sure.
Would I come here again for more? Yes I actually will and I would love to try their other dishes. Here’s hope to see you guys again 🙌🏻...
Read moreThe food here was quite mediocre, to be honest. I'm not sure why there are so many high reviews, perhaps the quality has gone down over time.
I came here with my wife. We tried the french onion soup, the burger, and the panini, and a cranberry pastry.
The food:
The pastry was alright, nothing special, though i did expect more from a place that was highly reviewed.
Now, let me tell you the story of the french onion soup. We chose the option of splitting the soup into two cups, which combined, would have been smaller than the size of a newborn ant. The bread on top was soggy, the soup itself had as much taste as instant noodle water, and it looked as if it had been prepared by a ten year old who watched one youtube video on how to pour soup into a bowl.
The burger was just okay, the patty was cold and a little bland, and the fries were decent. Sadly the whole experience was dragged down by the french onion soup prior.
I won't comment on the panini myself since i didn't try it, but my wife said it wasn't great.
The service:
Part of the service here was quite questionable. When serving our food, one of our servers tried to make space on the table, and moved our glasses of water by gripping the lip of the cup, where we already drank from. He also arranged everything in a weird way (food furthest away from us, for some reason) so that we just rearranged everything ourselves again after.
Overall, you're much better off heading to Antipodean, which is just a stones throw away from Yeast, and a marginally...
