Very interesting and informative place. No one was there when we arrived. Just registered our name on the book at the reception counter. About half way through the museum, then came a man in charged of the place. It’s free entrance. There’s a big interactive game like snake&ladder for kids to enjoy at the early part of the exhibition. There’s also a moving dinosaur in the middle towards the end of the museum; quite scary at first.

Loads of information with artifacts, old photos etc. We loved the gems part where we can learn and explore more about garnets, jades, and diamonds. Love it. Lots of pretty stones available as well.

Spent around 30mins there. Nice to get some cold airconditioned while strolling reading the information, rest and relax there after walking in a hot...

I recently visited this museum and had a wonderful experience! It's great that entry is free, making it accessible to everyone. When you enter, you need to take off your shoes, which helps keep the place really clean and well-maintained.The museum itself is very informative, with lots of interesting exhibits about geology. It's perfect for a school tour because there's so much to learn and see. You can easily go through the whole museum in about an hour, which is just the right amount of time to enjoy everything without feeling rushed.

One thing I think would be a great addition is a donation box. I'm sure many visitors would love to support the museum and the fantastic work they’re doing.

Overall, it's a hidden gem in Ipoh and definitely worth a visit if you're...

I'm not really into geology, so I didn't really expect much from this museum. Boy, was I in for a surprise! Parking just outside the entrance was free. You have to take off your shoes to enter, so it's clean. Walking around bare-footed gave the place a homely feeling! No need to pay any entrance fee, just register yourself in the visitors book at the front counter. Though the museum is relatively small, it is well organised and well kept. The exhibits and information are easy to comprehend and make geology sound so interesting! Would definitely recommend on a trip to Ipoh. Do take note of the opening times...

Very Informational place. Not too big just nice. Very quite and empty. There were no charges to enter the place. Helpful staff. Once coming out of the museum on your left will be another building. Enter the building and there will be a staircase to your left. Go down the staircase and you will arrive at another small information centre mainly about all the kinta valley geoparks. There are maps and books there too. There's also a library in the building but I did not enter. Overall quite a nice experience. And you will have to write down your name at the security guard place before entering the museum.

Well kept, clean environment, real friendly staffs working the museum, and a chill atmosphere. Walk around slowly and learn about the short history of our earth, rocks & cystals, its uses and importance, plus the many places of geological interests in Malaysia. Overall lovely experience. Staffs were easy to talk to, happy to show the rare collection of precious and semi-precious stones on sale and offered stories on how their own customers bought some of them. If you're around the area, and don't mind a quiet time learning something extra, do drop by this museum and give it a go.
